Face value + £7.50. That's quite a big mark-up.
Yeah but still not as big a rip off as on stub hub where greedy people choose the price. £7.50 isn't actually that high compared to similar ticket sites who usually charge at least £10 service fee.

So happy they've done this. Was outrageous that the club allowed fans to buy a season ticket, sell their ticket to Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Man United at such a profit that it would cover their season ticket and they'd get 15 games for free.

Really hope fans who have been doing this for the last couple of years renewed their season tickets this year only to find out they couldn't fleece their fellow fans.

Ticket sites are always greedy, at least this way we only have to deal with corporate greed and not personal greed

I ended up paying £400 for the final 3 home games at the lane on Stubhub because of the stubhub rip-off merchants, now i've got a season ticket for Wembley thats costing £675. Glad for the new change to be honest, less fans getting ripped off.

Exactly, I think, conservatively, someone who paid £800 for a season ticket at the lane could have sold every ticket for £100 on average so probably making a grand profit off the back of fellow spurs fans not lucky enough to get a season ticket. It's been noticeable how much slower I'd moved up the waiting list the last 3 years in comparison to the previous 6 (luckily have one for next season) but I hope all the pricks using stubhub to profit over the last few years feel the pinch this year and have to give up their season ticket next year (can you tell how much it's been pissing me off!)

@KILLA_SIN

What is there to disagree with? £7.50 is almost a 50% mark-up on some tickets. If that's not big, what is?

The cheapest season ticket works out to £35.65 per match, so about a 20% average mark-up on that. Most expensive is £89.60 so only an 8% mark-up there. Nothing close to 50% in any case (although I think a £5 point would've been more reflective of the admin costs and a small profit).

What about the flip side….I have just got a season ticket and while I am delighted I managed to get one, there will be a lot of games I will not be able to go too.

My concern now is I will not be able to sell tickets for face value. It would be my preference to sell at a discount to face value and at least recoup something but it sounds like I won’t be able to do this via ticketmaster.

There is no flip side - that is the whole business model of a season ticket. You can't expect the club to allow you to under-cut them!

On the other side of the coin, I sold some of my tickets well below face value to get a sale for a few games in previous years.

I can't do that now. If they don't get bought on the new ticket exchange at face value then nobody gets the seat.

You would think there will be an option to set the price with the face value being the highest you can go. We'll have to see.

So they've announced how the Ticket Exchange is going to work.

I was a bit peeved that they would only refund 1/19 the cost of the ST despite them reselling the ticket at full value, but I suppose you'd get less than face value for the big games and more than face value for the lesser ones.

Although, you can't sell your ticket until the ground is sold out and I doubt we'll sell out for anything other than the big games, meaning that the club will always make a profit on the sale of your ticket and you'll make a loss.

Given the tight margin of saving a ST gives you over the cost of purchasing a seat for every match on a game by game basis, missing one lesser match and not being able to sell your ticket would wipe out your saving.

So basically, if you can't get to a match which isn't a big one, you won't be able to sell your ticket.

If you're trying to buy a ticket and the stadium is almost sold out you might as well wait for the ticket exchange tickets to come available as they'll be much better seats. So there's no reason to rush to buy tickets from the club for the big games as the better seats will be available later in the sale period, which sort of does over the members as in all likelihood, the general sale tickets will be better than the ones offered to members.

I'm peeved again.

What will happen if the team make a blazing start to the season I would think getting tickets will be more hard to get.

85,000 tickets need to be sold before the Ticket Exchange is opened. However well we start, we're not going to consistently sell over 85,000 tickets. We'd be setting PL attendance records every week if we did. And if we do, the stadium we're building is too small.

Must say I find this incredibly frustrating.

So if me and my significant other can't make a game the seats are just left empty. Meanwhile there will be people in the nosebleeds who would've gladly paid a bit more to get a better seat.

Basically what it boils down to is the club already has my cash, they might as well sell an additional seat and get the revenue for that.

Makes perfect commercial business sense but have to feel a bit screwed as a fan who bought a ST and I wonder how the atmosphere will be impacted when there are large swathes of empty season ticket seats and people are spread all around the top tier for Brighton at home.
