We need to start making some statement signings, now more than ever with Kane and Son gone and a hole in midfield. I'll be surprised if it happens, but if we like him and we've identified him as a key target, just fucking go for it. Take some risks and if it doesn't pay off, at least we can say we tried. I'll certainly respect and appreciate that. Currently it feels distinctly as if we're happy to play safe and allow this moment to pass us by and that, more than anything, would be unforgivable.

Llorente hasn’t worked. Neither did Janssen. The best fit has been Son who is not really an out and out striker, but capable of getting minutes on the park out wide to stay match sharp when called upon to occupy the CF role. A similar type of player to Son is what we need, and Werner fits the bill as well as anyone.
Will it happen? It’s a tough ask, but the sort of player required to deliver to Poch that will convince him to stick with the project rather than be tempted away. What was his comment about being bold??
We would have to free up a non HG space first, and one other than Dembele, because he would need replacing also. Can you see us bringing in a CF and CM of that calibre in January??
Bring back Onomah to help the CM issue till the summer, and go all out for a CF like Werner, especially if Llorente is attracting attention too.
As for the supposed ITK saying Bowen, Werner and Maja, highly doubtful.

Bayern are not the kind of club who will go around paying £60-70m on a player so Werner fits the bill. Their focus is on signing up the best up and coming German players at a reasonable price and they are obviously a big draw for young German players.

Expect Werner to join the likes of Sule, Goretzka by signing for them by the summer. They've agreed a deal for Pavard to sign for next season and with Hudson Odoi another target, they'll look to hoover up young talent which won't cost them a crazy amount.

looks exactly like the kind of player we have no shot at. either money or his ambition will sabotage this

They spent £40m on Anderson in summer, maybe I’m alone but I just can’t envisage us spending 40,50 or 60m on an attacking player. The only way it will happen is if we’ve sold Eriksen and the club feel forced to do so.

Werner is exactly the type of player we should look at, able to play at 9 but also alongside Kane or on wing. Young and fast, he’s perfect for us.
I agree. It's not like we've ever spent £42m on a defender.

His contract runs out same time as Eriksens, yet we think we’ll get him for decent fee but sell Eriksen for good money. Unless I’ve missed a buy out clause, his fee will be in region of what we expect for Eriksen, why would it not be. We always trick ourselves into thinking other clubs players should be priced just right for us to afford, the market has changed. Leipzig got £48m for Keita they’ll want a lot more for Werner.
Bull. 50m tops for him now and it'll get accepted. Timo is upcoming.

Eriksen is more established and have Real Madrid fluttering eyelids at him. Eriksen is proven. 100m plus

He’s played 23 times for Germany. You could also argue you pay for potential like Dembele going for over 100m. You could also argue well if they don’t accept that now we can just wait till he’s on a free, but then you could argue the same for Eriksen.

They’ll want more than Keita (48m), I reckon closer to 65-70m. If you can see us paying 50m let alone 70m then good luck with that cos it’s quite probable you’ll be disapponted.

£50m ok ish.

Aubameyang and pulisic are 4th and 3rd record signings involving German sides and are recent at 63m and 64m Euros. So maybe £55m sterling. Will put them up with those.

Only De Bruyne at 75m Euros with Man City Tax and Ousmane Dembeke at 115m euros including Barca Tax, are higher.

So 50-55m English pounds will get him

I can definitely see us paying £55m for him if we’ve just sold Eriksen for £90m. Would love to be wrong but I cannot see it without that and as much as I like Werner I don’t like thinking about my example.

the guy is an established star in a top league entering the prime of his career. when have we ever signed one of those? Lloris I guess but keepers dont really count, or at least they didnt until recently.
