Its 'Fluid' but nothing happening so far

I suppose all we can be thankful for, is that Kane got injured bang in the middle of the January window. If it had happened in February, we would be totally screwed. All we need is Son to come back injured from the Asian Cup and it really could be season over.

At least now, Levy has two weeks to try and do a deal for one of our targets. Maybe it means bringing forward any plans for the summer to January, and if we have to pay a premium for it, so be it. We cannot let this season go to waste by not signing anyone.

Too many Elite clubs looking for a striker, unless he *always dreamed of being a Lily White* we don’t have a snowballs chance in hell to be perfectly honest.

Replace striker with any player and get rid of unless he always dreamed of being a lilywhite, tbh. Levy cares not for our needs.

My guess - we have agreed on a general fee range - but now its down to convincing the player to come here.

First article I pull up - Barça, Real Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool all interested.

Sorry. Shut it down. Levy will never bid what it takes to convince a player to pass on those teams...

How do we know all of these teams are actually interested though? Could all just be agent talk. Or could be real. Who knows. I'm just crossing every limb/bone/ligament in my body.

Great now we just need to buy Levy a nappy so he can get this fluid underwraps before it gets all over the floor.

Happy it's not a 'no' (which is basically all we keep hearing here) but I still doubt anything happens this window if ever.

Valid point. And if the player is ambitious, I’m not clear on where he fits in with those other teams. Would he start with them? Or would he think he has a better chance of starting with us?
I don’t believe we are skint or can’t compete on wages. For the right player, I think we would get close to what they are looking for.
This kid is young and still getting better. He could see Spurs as a stepping stone to eventually getting a massively lucrative move to a psg, Bayern, Barca, Real or Juve a few seasons from now... and be good enough to be a regular starter. I doubt he sees himself right now as a player that can walk into the first 11 of any of those teams right outta the gate. So, either he would go for the money, the prestige, the weather, or thinks he’s good enough right now.
But on the surface, it seems that Liverpool, Spurs or Dortmund would be the best fit for him

Not sure why people think it’s way out of the realms of possibility that he’d sign for us. Sonny was of a similar calibre at a similar club when we signed him. We’re a bigger club and better team that can offer him a better contract than the one he’s currently at. Our play style suits him down to the ground and our coach can improve him. Know we’ve taken a few kicks in the bollocks in terms of transfers but we’re still an attractive club.

Can see us chasing Werner this window and eventully accepting it's not going to happen and then scrambling around for someone like Jay Rodriguez late in the day. Might be 29, but suppose Poch knows him and obviously will involve no acclimatising to the league. Much more likely imo.

In our current predicament, I'd take him to be honest!!

Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen what with Poch having worked with him before.

WBA are in the play off positions so may well be reluctant sellers, especially as he has scored 13 goals for them so far. He is 29 though so they may budge if a decent bid comes in. We'll probably hope something in the £15m range convinces them but they may want more as with them fighting to get promoted they may well feel it's better holding onto him and giving themselves the best chance to come back again.

Timo Werner is the current number 1 in German forward. So, I am sure he would be advised to pick the club which could offer him the highest possibility of game time in his position.

So, on this front I am pessimistic on a possible transfer to us. It won't be about salary. For us , apart from transfer fee, we will have to convince he will be firmly in the plans and matchday XI consistently.

Good thing is he can play outwide but his best through the middle. Something like Aubameyang situation for Scum. If done , will be a great signing for us - no questions.
