below is a letter i have written and i am very close to sending to THFC, i was just looking for feed back and wonder if you guys would like anything to add to it? im sick of our pretty boy players being more concerned with their looks, their lack of passion and im generally question if the club actually cares for its fans??

any feedback however positive or negative would be great!

Dear Tottenham Hotspur Football Club

As you can probably guess i am a slightly disgruntled fan at this moment in time. I pour at least £100 a season into your coffers as i only buy direct from the spurs online shop. I wish i could go to matches but i live across the water in northern ireland so its very hard to get tickets, flights and accomodation booked. So there is a desire for me to spend more money on my beloved club.
I am a member of a fans website www.spurscommunity.co.uk of which i'm sure you have heard of and/or have contact with. A vibrant community of spurs supporters from all over the globe, who have their own fears about where our great club is heading.
I am not writing to complain, i have no problems with the website or the shop. It is with the players that i am most disgruntled with, never have i seen a bunch of talented players, play with no passion, no heart, no grit. After being tackled they are more concerned with fixing their hair. This irritates me as it is the last thing they should be concerned with! They should be getting up and chasing after every ball.

It is a general query of mine if such emails of mine are shown to Mr Levy, Mr Ramos or indeed the players? Do they even care what we fans think? As it says on the contact us page of the official spurs website "Tottenham Hotspur is proud of its relationship with fans and constantly strives to improve supporters' match day experience and day-to-day interaction with the Club"
I ask are you really? Or are you more concerned that we fans pour our hard earned cash into your pockets??

let's try something a little different?

I remember the club, before our semi final, asked that fans submit some letters of encouragement to be read out in the dressing room before the game.

I cannot think of a better time to do a similar thing, but instead of soppy kisses and false sentiments, the true feelings of the fans who through thick and thin support, live and breath the football club.

I think this could, and should be suggested to the club, because sometimes, when you are in a situation like this, you become blinkered, and the best thing is a reality check, a kick up the backside and some home truths.

Who better than the fans to give this. I'm not saying we should submit tactical plans, suggested signings or any personal scathing attacks, but maybe point out what the club means to us, and how the current situation is making us feel.

cheers for the email addy.

As for the letter, I think it is directed at the wrong source. I personally feel that ultimately Levy is to blame for all this and that Ramos has to go (as well as Commolli).

thats my feeling

Sending emails like this is pretty pointless IMO. yes we are disgruntled, i think they get that from all the boo-ing that goes on at the Lane these days. I think they are equally disgruntled as well with the players.

Whitestripe's idea is the best, if we want to help our team we should be sending emails of encouragement, not emails complaining how badly they are playing.

I agree that the letter will probably, at best, only be read by a low-level functionary who will reply with an anodyne non-event of an e-mail, just to fob you off.

If the fans really want to elicit change, then the only real way of doing it is to hurt Levy where he's most sensitive: in his pocket. And you do that by boycotting matches. Unfortunately, that hurts the players because they won't get the encouragement that they need.

It's a vicious circle, and it's how the fan is trapped and powerless. Because they want to remain loyal they keep contributing to a problem that shouldn't elicit any loyalty.

There's other things that can be done to hurt the clubs pockets, which don't affect the players.

Things like not spending any money at the ground, they make a lot of cash through food and beverages, instead have people handing out leaflets etc... outside the ground encouraging people not to spend money inside.

Anyone with a Spurs credit card can rip it up and send it back, assuming they can afford to.

Anyone who subscribes to Spurs TV (are there any people?) can cancel their subscription - not like you can be enjoying it much right now anyway.

Anyone who downloads mobile apps from the site (wallpapers etc..) can stop doing it.

Anyone who buys the new kits can stop.

Anyone who buys or subscribes to 'One Hotspur' can cancel and stop.

Some basic ideas here that will hit Levy's pockets.

Do yourself a favour and don't send it mate.

a) It's not very well written
b) You state nothing more than conjecture and opinion
c) Do you really want to email the club to complain about David Bentley's hair?!
d) Why do you need to mention SC? I don't think you have done this, but I hate when one fan decides he can speak for the "general" opinion of Spurs fans.

What do you actually want to achieve with this email? Do you want Levy to go down to the dressing room and say "please stop fixing your hair during matches"? Maybe he could make them all shave their hair off?

You might as well just email Ramos and ask him to please start winning games for all the effect that email will have.

I have had several email conversations with Daniel Levy and I'll tell you now that you will get a nice polite reply back from Jonathan Waite who will assure you that Daniel has read your message but in reality he won't actually give two fucks what you think.
When he finally started to reply to me personally, I was left feeling that I was merely being paid lip service and that he really didn't give a fuck what I thought.
So, best of luck and I hope you get somewhere with it.

I won't be adding the emails to this thread as the conversations with DL were in private and I assured him that they would stay that way, but as usual, on this site, all bar the "elite" half dozen or so, seem to be doubted when they say something. If any of the mods had put my message on the board you wouldn't be questioning it's authenticity would you.
Take it or leave it, whatever
