He agreed in summer a contract verbally, then stalled. I personally believe we will sell him end of season, as he is showing no inclination of staying. And it is not about the money now, but about trophies etc. At his age you can understand.

If we sell Toby in the summer ( along with Rose ) baring in mind Walker is gone too then what’s the point.

Won’t be long til Kane is looking for a out

Yep. Will make everything pointless.

Ever since we spent so much on Sanchez I haven't been convinced Alderweireld is here to stay.

Am very sad at the Toby news but not the same thing as Kane.

Difference v Walker is that there will be real interest from abroad (Barca, PSG and Bayern will all be keen)

He’s an ungrateful sh*t. We finished 3rd, then 2nd and that’s not good enough? He’s not guaranteed trophies at any of the other big premier league clubs as the league and cups are so competitive. The only teams thar are nailed on to win something are Barca, PSG and Bayern Munich. Real need an overhaul. Stay and fight for trophies with Spurs in the most competitive league in the world or bugger off to Spain, Germany or France and win trophies due to lack of competition.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the rumours he’s out till April are actually a case of him following in Rose’s footsteps and spitting his dummy out.

Hopefully we’ve an extension we can enforce in his contract and then sell him for an eye watering fee abroad.

What happens with Toby will actually show where the owners want this club to go. Will they take up the option in his contract to keep him an extra year but then risk the £25m price tag kicking in (so we get to keep him an extra season) or do they take the money in the summer, which could feasibly be double that. But losing him at the end of the season would make us so much weaker.

It really will show the club's ambition and intentions because I can't see us making him our top earner for the obvious reasons, so it's down to the problem I've suggested above.

The other problem I have with letting him go in the summer is obviously the message it sends out. Especially as Rose seems off too. Also with Dembele on his last legs we would need to effectively replace 3 first XI players. I can't see that being successfully done in one window.

when would the buy-out clause be activated if we extend the contract to 2020 according to his current contract? 2019?

sessegnon deal is done according to gards (and winnered by hercules), and we are probably still monitoring the situation of barkley, although his fitness will be a concern

Can’t see him being here next season. Good thing we got Sanchez in in the summer giving him time to settle

Yeah I had it pretty much confirmed last night that we were in the driving seat and that it would be a big surprise if he didn't end up with us. But that nothing has been decided yet. The price will be lower than that rumoured in the press.

Time to face the fact that this is becoming a rebuild for poch over the next two seasons. Not saying that’s a good or bad thing but the 27years+ are running out for trophies and we just aren’t in the same place as them.

Walker out, the high possibility of Rose in the summer, and now maybe Toby too?

I hope the owners either pay up or shut up about us wanting to compete. Lose those and not adequately replace (I know Sessegnon but realistically it could take him 2/3 years if ever to get to Rose's level) and we could be staring down the barrel of an exodus. As others have said, it's not necessarily losing the players, it's the message it sends out.

We are building the new stadium to bring in revenue hopefully in line with our rivals, which means they need to suck it up and pay accordingly. Here for trophies etc is a load of bollocks, pay the right money and they'll stay.

You think some of these ex pros who won an FA cup here and there but are now cabbies and having to work to make a living would rather that than financial security? Fair play if so, but these days financial rewards are the real 'trophies'.

If true, we’re set to lose the best RB, LB and CB in the league in the space of 12 months.

I guess that will put to bed the old ‘can this Spurs team keep hold of their best players’ debate.

No, no we can’t is the depressingly predictable answer.
