I think this is probably the best he was going to get, I imagine he will get regular football which I couldnt see him getting at a Premiership club.

Would have preferred to see him try his hand abroad rather than let a young, frail kid get the crap kicked out of him in the Championship.

6 months in the Dutch league playing and training alongside other techincally talented players would be a good learning process for him.

Well he's going to have to learn how to get the crap kicked out of him at some point. Just hope he doesn't end up like Mason.

I've not seen much of Derby this year, are they playing good football? I only ask because Sherwood said that there was only 1 or 2 sides in the championship that he would allow Tom to go to because of the football that they play.

they played great football when I watched them v stoke, i know stoke make most teams look like barca but derby played there own game.

Just checked out a Derby forum and they were impressed with his play in the 2nd half. Dictated play quite well apparently.

Would have preferred a move to someone like Wigan.

Disagree, Wigan are vastly overated and shit, bottom of the league.

Derby are a club on the up in the Championship and it will be good for Carroll to get experience of that level before being tried in the Prem.
