People were moaning about me posting qpr fans quotes in the What are our opponents fans are saying thread about him last week so will put them in here

Much better comments this week

A lad of his age and size shouldn't be bossing games in the championship but his positional sense and passing ability is excellent. He ran the show in the second half.

No, much more of a Carrick type player. Retains possession and keeps it ticking over. Always available for the give and go and good at occupying space in front of the defence.

Was pushed forward when Henry came on and was always in space.

They will only get better the more they play. Looking forward to seeing our midfield develop.

I'd say a bit more like Michael Carrick but obviously not on the same level yet. He played the deepest in midfield and made countless interceptions and tackles. Never needed to dive in as his positional sense is good. His passing ability is also very good and in the second half he really pulled the strings. We basically played through him today as Redknapp said we would.

Looking forward to seeing more of him this season!

I believe Carroll will become an England squad mainstay, sooner than later.

Has anyone else noticed his reluctance to use his right foot? To the point where he'll use his left foot to bring it 180 degrees all the way back round to where he wants it. Just seems a bit of a weakness to have at this level.

Having said that he has plenty of positives to his game and is fitting into our passing game nicely so I'm happy to see him in the starting eleven and improve his game with us

His best game today.Good first touch, reads where the space is and uses it well.Agree he is very left footed ,which could be a problem.I have a slight problem with him as he is the same type of player as Faurlin, and to some degree Barton.I 'm not sure I need to see him passing forward better,ie finding players in the last third.I worry he is keeping Faurlin from his proper position.

Thought he looked much better when he pushed up second half. He still worries me when he picks it up deep as he can be a bit casual in the ball across the back 4, which with our lack of pace ther will cost us

Though Faurlin was very, very unlucky to be subbed

Never stops moving and showing, think he is going to be a very classy player (and Barton has become twice the player thanks to their understanding)

Thought he was excellent today. Much better than last week. Cut out the mistakes from last week and definitely did his part keeping possession and helping us tick over all afternoon. Even a couple of decent defensive interventions. Hats off.

Thanks for that Lman, it's not your fault if the QPR supporters didn't appreciate a top player in the making(y)

Many thanks for that, L-Man. There are some highly encouraging comments there. (And this is definitely the best place to post them.)

Cheers L-man. Was just reading the same forum and was about to post, pretty much, what you have.

I'll enjoy watching the football league show tonight :)

Some really good posts there l-man, sounds like he had a good 'un.
Is he really that left footed though? If he is then that's a real bug bare with me, work on it lad, I did and it done wonders for me even at the level I played at.
Got to be able to use both feet these days!

I went to the game today with my mate. Carroll had an alright game. Always showing for the ball, playing lots of passes. Most were short and sideways but with absolutely no movement from the players in front of him I cant see what else he could do. He's playing too deep for me and is being wasted .
Bae looks like he couldn't give two shits. Was solid at times and gave the ball away in dangerous positions a few times. Luckily Barnsley looked as likely to score as a fat ugly bloke at a school disco.

I looked up Carroll's stats the other day myself, averages the most passes a game in the Championship - not a great surprise really.

He really shouldn't be in the Championship at all, he's far too good for that.

Hopefully a pl team will want him second half of the season, like with walker a couple of years back

Most season long loans seem to have a recall option for January. No idea if this one does though.
