Let us pray that Tottenham can't fit carroll into their side next season and loan him to us again or even sell him. He is so key to how we play and the fact that he doesn't hold on to the ball for long makes him even more vital. There was a stretch of 5 passes or so between barton and carroll yesterday which just had one blackburn player moving in circles and completely getting tired out. That is the aim of our type of play and he seems to do very little wrong over 90 minutes. Also his control of the ball on the first touch is sublime and brings a calmness to our midfield that balances with Barton's aggressive nature.

We grumble about lacking movement and a cm who can play with his head up, moving the ball quicker and Carroll is about all those things. I appreciate that playing regularly in the Championship is going to give him good exposure, but I really feel he could have made a positive difference playing in a 433 with the quality of players we have here.

He has qualities we are deficient in.

Can we recall him? Firstly I think he could do a very good job and secondly I don't want QPR coming up

Only worth recalling him if hes gonna play. Otherwise he should stay where is this season. He definitely has the passing ability that a lot of our midfielders lack.

He's exactly what we've needed.

Him and the likes of fredericks are the future.

The team of Ramsey, Sherwood and Ferdinand should know him.

But it would be to an expense of another midfielder as we wouldn't be able to keep Carroll, Dembele, Holtby, Sandro, Paulinho and Capoue happy. Tough one

Fine, get rid of some of the others. Carroll's passing and movement is better than any of them.

Paulinho can just dream of being as good as Tom. Hope to get back both BAE and Tom dont want to lose another good player like Big Tom. So hope we bring little Tom back :)

I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous comment. Paulinho starts for one of the best International teams in the world. Don't put unnecessary pressure and expectations on young Carroll.

Not putting any pressure at all. Just saying that Tom is miles ahed of him, Not saying that he will be the next Luka or something.

You really don't rate Paulinho do you? You saw his first few games for us and his efforts at the Confederations Cup right? He's a very good player who is having a particularly poor spell at the moment. He is obviously fatigued from playing so many games in the past year. Red card is the best thing that could have happened to him.

Carroll definitely has some of what we need right now but Paulinho is still the better all-round player, and is far more experienced.

Dont rate paulinho higher than Joey Bartonè. He is Slow he is a bad passer and will take so much time for him to even cope with the high tempo that is in the PL. Just a nobrainer to even buy him in the first place
