Well... Swansea for one considering he was named their player of the month in January ;)
I think this has been brought up before, but that was the month they did not win in the league as they drew to QPR and West Ham, and lost 0-5 to Chelsea, and the month they got knocked out of the FA Cup by Blackburn.

I don't think him winning that award is something someone can use to 'prove' his quality.

Haha oh I didn't say it "proved his quality," but was in response to him "not making an impact at a Prem club." Big difference there, bud.

Is it really an impact though? He got an award in there, in all likelihood, worst month of the season.

Carroll is a talented player and will have a Premier League career. Personally, I have a hard time seeing how he fits into either role of our midfield 2. But if we were ready to sell him, I think we would have found a deal with Swans in January. Because we turned them down, I think Poch has plans to at least give him a chance in preseason.

If he was to play for us he is probably more suited to the eriksen role

He's had 10 starts and come on 13 times for our 1st XI

Turns 23 next month. For me he will have to make massive improvements in his game to get anywhere near a regular starting spot for Tottenham

Personally I feel he did enough in those starts and uefa games especially to warrant further inclusion. If I was boss at the time Andre toyed with him in the midfield what I saw would have meant he got his chance. I feel he deserved it Andre obviously thought different.

To me when you have a player that can see things others can't, and by this I mean his passing, especially and particularly 'through' teams, and structures then you cherish this. Have you seen the pass when playing for England u21 where he took out the whole midfield and defence with one perfectly weighted pass and sliced that pass through the entire structure?

Ahhh come on. That what you did there is convenience intelligence.

Someone has already mentioned Bale played what was it? 20 games without winning in a spurs shirt ?

Wasn't Michael carrick purchased from a relegated team? Burnley might get relegated but won't Ings be in demand? Matthew le Tissier played much of his career at a relegation threatened Southampton but he can't be a good player can he, because his team lost many games in those years, must be a crap player then?

When did I say he was a crap player or that he can't be a good player?

Yeah, that's right. Get off your high horse.

Agreed, have never understood why people make the team performance argument as they pertain to an individual's merits.

The point is, just because his team lost doesn't mean he didn't make an impact nor should it devalue his player of the month (for Swansea) award. As @beats1 said, in some of those games he was the best player on the pitch.

No didn't see the game or pass

I've see nearly all the Tottenham games properly (not on TV) and I'm yet to see anything from him in a Spurs shirt that tells me he's going to be a 'player' for a top team like Tottenham in the Premier League etc

I think most people hope he's going to make it but that's not backed up by facts. Really hope I eat my words and in the next 12 months he has an amazing transformation and progression

All I've see so far is a Stephen Clemence type player for Spurs. Joe Allen mark2 and I can't stand Joe Allen.....

Those who said Carroll should be sold based on his performance in Swansea should take a look at Kane in Norwich. The ultimate aim of a loan is to let the player have some playing time and gain more experience, not to assess whether the player is good enough or not. We need to give him a chance in the first team and if that does not work out, then we can have no qualms in him being sold.

This isn't the pass the poster was talking about, but one from this season playing for Swansea.
