This isn't the pass the poster was talking about, but one from this season playing for Swansea.

Good find, not seen that one. The man can pick locks. Meanwhile somewhere in burnley yesterday we had a player who cost 17million masquerading as tottenham player. Tom must get his chance.

I can remember a crazy pass he made for Eng u21s earlier in the year to. His long range passing is better than anything in our team atm

Well they bid 5 mil for him in Jan and got rejected suggesting they wanted him. They instead bought Jack Cork to prepare for the future who is a very capable PL player and young. So the question is at the back end of a season with nothing really to play for why would a PL club play and develop a 21yo who will not play for them next season ahead of a 21yo player who is theirs and will be there next season. They are getting ready for next season so why are they going to play Carroll or have him on the bench when they can try other players. Its not an indication of his ability. Before that happened he was voted their player of the month. If you're using this as a reason to say he isn't good enough for us you'll have to look for another.

I think being Englans u21 skipper is a good indication of his ability

But hello …. he is 23 in one month and is captain for the u21s? js that good? He hasn't been regulary at all at Swans, he played 3-4 games in a row when Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Britton and Ki were away, he has played like 500 minutes in Premier Leauge? 500 of 3500? if you play that little you isn't good enough for Spurs or even Swansea mate

At 23 Mason had no England U21s caps, had never played a minute in the Premiership, had only made a handful of appearances for Spurs including only one start, had not even made the bench at Lorient, and had been unremarkable on loan at Doncaster and Swindon. Clearly we should have got shot...

I have been thinking about Carroll's position at Spurs. There was some ITK that he had fallen out with Poch; at the time I assumed that if there was anything to it that it was Tom throwing a strop due to lack of game time in pre-season. But I am wondering now if there might be more to it. I recall in the past Tom saying he had tried stepping up the gym work and he thought it had a negative effect on his game. I wonder how he got on with AVB's gruelling fitness regime?

You don't think Carroll can play in the PL?
He can probably play in the EPL, I just don't know what club. He would be better off finding the right championship side and get them promoted and see how it goes.
I can't see him at Spurs. It won't be long before his fate is decided.

He should get a chance in our squad next year. Has proven he can play in the PL and more than good enough to be in our squad. If he has he old team mates around him who all know each others games will hopefully see him play at his best.

I am surprised that Carroll is thought so poorly of. If he was someone else's player we'd be delighted at being linked with him - young, England U21 Captain (I believe), composed on the ball and now with Premiership experience.

Every time I've seen him play - which isn't a vast amount to be true - I have thought he looked very much at home - either in the Prem or in the Europa for us. I hope that Poch gives him a proper pre-season to see if he fits the system. If he doesn't then I'd imagine we would have no trouble selling him on and making a few quid.

I'm sure people would be hyped if we were linked to Ward-Prowse and be happy to give him a chance smh. Carroll Is more than good enough to be a squad player, as you said when he has played EL or PL for us he hasn't looked out of place. I've even had opposition fans saying he looked good playing for us

Interesting news today that Sherwood is apparently interested in adding Cleverley permanently. Thought for sure he was going to Everton and that Sherwood would come after Tommy. If we are looking indeed to still sign Schneiderlin, that's one less strong buyer for Carroll (if all this is true of course).
