    SPURS NEWS:

Martin Jol reaches the 100-game mark in charge of the Club at Manchester City on Sunday.

    source - official site

His first official match was the League Cup tie at Burnley on November 8, 2004.

The 99 so far break down as 81 in the Premiership, seven in the FA Cup, five in the League Cup and six in the UEFA Cup.

Martin is delighted to reach his first major milestone. "Hopefully it's the first of many here because I feel we’re building something special," said Martin as he reflected on those couple of years in charge.

What were his highlights? "I thought it was very good last season that we didn’t have back-to-back defeats and a few games stand out.

"The Chelsea game this season, our first win against a ‘top’ side; Arsenal away last season when we played some outstanding football and they were very surprised; Everton at home a couple of seasons ago when they were very strong and finished fourth but we managed to win 5-2 with two goals from Dean Marney. We also beat them away 1-0 and should have won by more.

"We haven’t lost against an international team in either a friendly or in the UEFA Cup this season and Besiktas was a special away win because everyone knew it would be difficult in front of an unbelievable crowd and after the game everyone realised we did something special.

"Achieving European football last season was great, the first time in 23 years from league position and our highest league finish since 1989-90.

"There are lots of memories and hopefully we can achieve more and win some silverware.

"Our fans are special, they know we are building and we are more talented than ever. There is so much to look forward to and with the talent here, with our support, our organisation and the continued backing from the board, I think we can achieve things."

lennon not even on the bench? I was going to sugest resting him for this one; but youd always at least want him on the bench. mustve picked up a knock I presume...

How come Dawson is out? 5 yellows? Midfield doesn't seem too penetrating...lennon's pace is always an option to get us out of trouble and hit other teams on the break. Hope O'Hara gets a game if we're looking ok to put him on, good little player. Tainio and Hudd in the middle, Ghaly on right and Malbranque on left? Hmmmm. Hope he's not resting players, we need to win these games.

lennon has a knee injury and so couldnt be selected

he will also be rested for the southend game as well

looking forward to seeing o'hara but apart from him and mido we have no midfielders or attacking players on the bench

Look how far we have come since BMJ took control, he is a top manager and has installed a great team spirit.

Stats are something like 48 wins, 27 draws and the rest losses (from memory, but it's close to that). Pretty good in other words.

I understand that his contract runs out in June 2009. It was re-negotiated in June this year, and is a pretty standard 3 year contract, so I would expect it to be re-negociated again summer 2007, depending how we do this year.
