Sat watching all the games yesterday with 1 Newcastle fan, 2 Leeds and 1 Liverpool, we were all discussing Newcastle's plight and their run in looks absolutely awful from their point of view.

This is why I wasn't too pissed off with Arsenal winning yesterday. Newcastle going down would be amazing.

Meh. I can see them getting 8 points not including the Boro game. That's massive, for me. I think whoever wins that stays up. A draw and they could both be in schtum.

Come On You Boro!

It really doesn't look good for them. Watching MOTD yesterday I though Duff, Taylor and Martins looked quite good. They've got some quality in their side and if they perform they can stay up.

With Stoke and Hull looking good for survival at least one good side is going to get relegated this year. I hope it's the Toon.

I can't see them getting any more than that. If anything, I'm being kind giving them a point against us and 3 against 'Boro...

I've been under the impression for a good few years now that Martins was a left footer, and a very one footed one at that, was I mistaken, because he took the pen with his right?

I really hope we get a win against them. They're one of the teams I despise and they just piss me off. We outplayed them at their place and lost earlier on this season.
The game they won 3-2 at the Lane they had like 3 shots on target the whole match. Not a fan of Joe Kinnear either.

I haven't been watching them recently (their form, etc), so by just going on the fixture list, I'd say they'll probably stay up. They've got 3 winable home games, and the possibly the game at Stoke aswell.

It'll be close, but they should just scrape by.

If you had been watching them recently you would realise that they are dog shite and really look like they could go down. That run in looks very tough, and Stoke just seem to keep on picking up points. That will be a pretty huge game between the two. Myself, like others on here cant stand Newcastle. I hope we smash them at the lane, its long overdue.

I honestly think that Michael Owen will end up being the first ever televised case of spontaneous human combustion.

Stoke have great home form (8 wins this season) so I can't see Newcastle winning there. Pretty confident they'll beat Boro, but Pompey? I doubt it.

They look dire and they've now got Taylor and Bassong on the injury list.

Owen has deferred his contract negotiations until their status is secure.
