@Grapo2001 when you chip in what this guy does toward the running of the site you can rate his posts as spam :D

The transfer stuff posted is done so in this part of the site because we asked them to do so, as we don't allow transfer related threads in Spurs Chat during the transfer window.

I don't particularly like click bait style articles, anywhere. It's nothing personal.

OK put it this way........ you've been asked and if you carry on, we'll do what we think is best to put a stop to it.

I'm pretty sure @Rob won't be as nice as I am about it, because this kind of thing pisses him right off. Plus its his pocket any shortfall comes out of.

In what sense is it clickbait? The article is exactly what they said it is, it's not twisted to look like something else more than it is.

Maybe remove the spam rating if it shouldn't be used then

In the sense that the article title is vague enough to make you click the link to find out the rumours and the players. It is click bait as it wants to be clicked to get paid for as affiliate links or whatever. It's on a message board where text can be posted, yet linking to a page of text.

It is click bait , but if that's how the site wants to role and be funded then that's SCs decision.

The article is entitled as an analysis. You click it and that's exactly what it is.

Your definition of click bait is nothing moire than an explanation of how websites work.

I'd quit while you're only marginally ahead.

You don't understand what clickbait is. We've explained numerous times about our links with Football Whispers and this is EXACTLY the sort of article we were hoping they'd contribute. Using their algorithm to rank the latest rumours and give some overview of each of the players fits in very well with how we work during the transfer windows.

I could make exactly the same argument for our Ban button as you make for the Spam button. It's there, we might as well use it...

Personally I have always viewed 99.9% of the icon ratings as just that...another readers interpretation of a posting or thread and how they 'rate' it...you either like or dislike...agree or disagree...find it informative, creative etc etc...I cannot fault such a system and will always respect another person's right to have their own opinion/viewpoint on a subject or topic. However, the one I have always struggled with is 'Spam' because I think it more of a classification as opposed to a viewpoint rating. There is no clear definition of 'Spam' and someone who designates such an icon does not have to justify it's use...yet it negatively affects the profile rating. I do find a vast amount of articles on here that have been designated by some as 'spam' when they are most certainly not 'off topic' or in any way not relative to the subject matter of the original thread.
I would love to see it removed altogether but if that isn't possible then I most definitely think it should no longer be allowed to have a negative effect on a member's profile rating.
This of course is just my opinion......
PS
I am a complete advocate of Football Whispers and have the app on my mobile...why tramp through endless blogs and websites looking for the latest rumours when these guys do it for you and whittle it down to the top 5 in relation to ins and outs ????.
