Depends on how transfers go, but I'd make us 2nd favorites behind Man City. Even then, they may take time to settle with Pep and the new layers he brings in. Important we get off to a fast start next year.

Important the chairman gives the manager the players/tools to be ready for the first game of the season for once. That's the clincher. Be ready to hit the ground running in August not after deadline day like every season for the last decade.

This club has spawned a bunch of melts.

Absolutely zero faith in the club or the players and yet want to celebrate when they succeed.

He's already got them and that is why The Chairman is tying them all down including Poch himself!!

When you've seen what's happened in the past, you can't blame Spurs fans for being Pessimistic! City 3-0 up vs 10 men - lose 4-3, 3-0 up vs Utd - lose 5-3, lasagne gate, finishing 4th and Chelsea winning the CL.. This season even, an amazing season, the best in my time, only to beat by last seasons relegation fodder!

With Spurs, you learn to never count your chickens. Although this team seems very robust and unlike Spurs teams of recent past.. You just never know with us!

That being said, im not worried about securing 3rd, but I am about 2nd, slipping up and the gooners overtaking us..

We are a different Spurs to the teams in the past, it baffles me as to why people cannot see this.

True, but comments like this really belong at the end of the season.
I do believe we are a different Tottenham, yet we couldn't beat West Brom.
We suddenly find ourselves only 2 points clear of Arsenal, with a tricky away tie to Chelsea, who despite being bang average this season will be well up for spoiling our party. Then Southampton, who just stuffed Man City (all be it a weakened team) and then a last day battle against a team fighting for survival and coming into form at the wrong time for us.

Now a different Tottenham will see this through. Earn the points needed to cement the place we currently deserve (2nd or higher), but UNTIL that is done we should remain cautious.

8th will qualify for Europa League qualifiers if Liverpool win the Europa League and finish seventh, and Manchester United win the FA Cup and finish in the top six, and Manchester City qualify for the Champions League

All very possible

Mad to think almost have the teams in our league could be playing in Europe next season
That would be quite good in a way as it would mean most of our main challengers would have the same European commitments.( apart from Chelsea)

It's because the old "yeah, but this team/season is different" has been rolled out a fair few times.

I agree, you do get that sense, but then, I have thought that before.

The only comparable there is lasagna gate. We really did have a team playing well and deserving of something.

Single games that don't go your way aren't comparable to an entire seasons worth of good play. Every team in the entire league has those meltdown games. Most of them you can even find a meltdown game this season alone.

Even in the Redknapp or AVB years we rode our luck. Our results were always boosted with a few points you'd say came from games that we didn't really deserve to win but we did anyway. Those things tend to even out in the end and they often did for us. This year is he complete opposite. We've had what, one game we deserved to lose (West Ham) and had bad luck in others.

Mathematically the only two teams who can now win the league couldn't beat West Brom in games this season.

I don't know if you've noticed this, but lower table teams aren't cannon fodder anymore. They all get results against top clubs. The likely winners of the league drew with the bottom team in the league FFS. Not beating up lower table teams isn't a yard-stick for success anymore.

Previous history has absolutely zero effect on how we'll do during these last 3 games. The whole team is basically entirely different since then.

@Sweech why do i get a Doh rating for this post? Its mathematically possible dude
Anyone using hypotheticals of us suddenly losing every game for the rest of the season deserves it. It's not even a neg rep - just a reminder of the lack of even the remotest faith in the team to even pick up a draw.

I don't know if you noticed this, but Arsenal managed it... no they can't win the league, but funnily enough they could yet overtake us. I have seen plenty of games this season to know exactly how improved we are, how we almost never lose. However, we are not above drawing due to just being unfortunate or not taking our chances.

Its clear that drawing games has been our Achilles heel this season. Now I do believe we have enough in our locker to see this through, but I am not taking anything for granted. Not because "we are Spurs" even, just because in a season where f'ing Leicester can win the league, anything else can happen too.

Fair enough, but it is indeed mathematically possible, though highly unlikely, unless we have the spursiest of spursy moments.

Comments like we are a different Spurs team now belong at the end of the season, why?

Do you think any of our players are fearing the worst, do you think they'll be thinking about finishing in 4th? The other day Harry Kane made a reference about being itching to play every game and cannot wait to the get on the pitch or something, our players confidence levels are off the charts, why can't our fans have the same confidence in the team?

When Poch came in he said that he needs to change the entire mentality of the club first and he did that but it still seems that some of our fans need to change their mentality as well.

In the past yeah but the evidence this season suggests that we've completely turned a corner.
