After doing a bit of research the league winners usually finish 86 points +. With the way things are going this season I can see the champions winning it on around 80 points mark?? Is this out of the question for us?? 48 points from 20 games.
The quality of the EPL this season is very poor and we have not played anyone yet who have out played us or looked head and shoulders above us yet. Is it possible ??

This place is like a manic depressive self help group. If we lose against Watford (or even draw) then it'll be all doom and gloom again.

Enjoy the season and worry about where we end up . . . at the end.

Genuinely concerned for some on here who started the season saying we'd do well to get top 6 and will now be topping themselves if we don't don't he league!

It is looking increasingly likely that we will be in the title race right up until the end of the season in my opinion, we are probably the only team that has shown any real consistency and even when playing badly we have managed to gain points from games.

I genuinely believe that we have a real chance at winning the league this year, why not? Who above us is truly better than us currently?

Consistency is key, one game at a time and consistent performances.

Sorry but I can't agree with this at all. How do you measure quality?

Just because Leicester and us are currently in the top 4 instead of the usual Sky 4, doesn't mean that the quality of the league is poorer this season.

We'll never get a better chance to win the league.

We'll be stronger next season but so will Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd.

Man City are the favourites but yet again Kompany's injured himself and Aguero can't seem to manage more half a dozen games without his hamstring going.

Toby, Kane, Lloris and Dembele are our key players we need to keep injury free, and if we do there's no reason we can't be up there come May.

Have to add Vertonghen and Dier to the key players

Please lets not start talking about winning the league.
It's embarrassing and will blow up in our face same as it always does when we start talking bollocks.
Lets just take one game at a time and see where we end up.
Pretty please lol.

Top four is so there for the taking this season. A couple of quality signings in Jan and I'm sure we can do it. Really important for getting our quality players to stay and sign new deals if they are due.

I'm measure quality by the fact the title favourites before today just looked awful and lost 4-0 to a mid table team and the 2nd favourites man city and utd have looked very poor at times too and are right in the mix too

Yeah the entire league is doing well in my opinion, I think his point is that the usual top teams are doing relatively poorly though which opens a gap for us. Chelsea and now Man United have been shocking this season. I think if we can turn some of our draws into wins in the second half of the season we could seriously challenge for the title. Pretty exciting.

I'm not taking about the league. That's silly.

I'm just gonna say. ...

Best GD
Best defence.
Longest unbeaten run.

Have we ever boasted any of that this time in any season?

The season has not been poor, this is how the league should be different clubs up there competing not the usual top 4 clubs running away by Xmas 20pts clear of everyone else with media crowing how good it is seeing them steam roller the rest week in week out. Times are changing with the new TV deal and the more clubs like us, Everton, stoke etc can keep adding to the quality we have the more unpredictable the league will be for top spots. Seeing the likes of Chelsea, city etal rack up 15 wins on the bounce is not quality, the premier is becoming seriously competitive and long may it continue.

Is It meaningless?
I'd say it means we've never been in such a good position at this stage.

Weren't we top of the league under hoddle? Were we not named as dark horses for the title under harry? Both of those seasons we finished with nothing.

Hopefully this season we can achieve something but we need to do just as well if not better in the second half of the season. The job is not done yet.

Enjoy the performances and the ride, but it aint over till it's over.

Totally agree

Personally, I think that the quality has increased throughout the league, which is why it is such an unpredictable season so far

Were we top at the halfway stage with the best GD and defence?

I'm not talking about us winning the league. I'm talking about top 4 chances.
