Here's another way to look at this season: when was the last time we entered the month of May with a chance of winning the championship, even if it was only a slight chance? 1985? 1982? For all the progress we've made and the success I hope we'll achieve, I hope we never acquire that sense of entitlement you see from the fans you mention.
Not to be a pedantic pain in the arse or anything, but we are some way off coming close to winning the championship.

All we've needed to do is avoid defeat to secure 2nd, whether Newcastle were fighting for survival or not we should be at least getting a draw there. They may even play better as it will be the first time they will be playing with no pressure for months.

It will be a toxic atmosphere- cannot see how they'll play any better.

I see your point. But if I had the choice of they are nervous and fighting for their premiership lives in front of a screaming full house. Or relegated with a less than enthusiastic crowed - I know which senario I would choose. Having said that, we have had three games, two at home and a 2 goal half time advantage to put this away before and we haven't. I am not holding my breath for this team without Dembelle and Alli to make my dreams come true. Unfortunately as always I see the gooners having the last laugh I am pleased for 3rd it has been my best season in a long long time, but loosing 2nd and being beaten at the last hurdle really will piss me off and take the shine off the season. Sorry I know I am wrong, glass half empty and all that. But I have been a spurs fan for a long long time (nearly 45 years) and I HATE ARSENAL If their is a God, please give us this one

Agreed. On its own I'll be happy with third, but I'd be absolutely gutted with Arsenal beating us to second on the last day.

No chance. All about us now if we half turn up we should batter these now. Had they still been fighting for Premier league pay checks things could have been very difficult. The Ashley out brigade will be in full flow this weekend now.

Imagine how deflated the Newcastle players will be feeling today. The fans will be completely hacked off at the weekend as well.

If we can't see out at least a point at the weekend then I will be very disappointed

Yeah you are probably right, hopefully so.

True mate, I would choose this scenario too, to be honest thinking about it I also think there's only so well that Newcastle can even play and our level should be well above that.

We will be facing them just days after relegation. Crowd wont be happy.
And, if we cant beat this relegated newcastle side, with a second place in the premiership to play for then we are not as close to being a premier league winning side that i thought....at least 5 weeks ago.

We need to start with pace, energy and verve - get the early goal and we should be fine. *crosses fingers in hopeful desperation*

Disappointed we are not on TV on the last game, Sky showing man Utd, Man City and West Ham

When they picked those games they would have been expecting a 3-way battle for champions league and that 1st-3rd place were finalised
