Nasty little airline, but sometimes needs must and all that. To avoid the horrible 'card fee' that they charge when booking your flight:

Buy vouchers for yourself

They don't charge the card fee when buying these, then use the vouchers to pay for the flight you intend to book.

Credit-crunch-tastic, I say.

Good day, all.

i got caught on sunday flying with them my own fault really when i was booking the flight for my misses i booked it under her marraige name and her name before she was married is on her passport, so they wouldnt let her on the flight even do the passport number was on the check in ticket so we had to book a different flight out and when we checked the flight ryanair wanted €240 each so we ended up going with BA for 150 each , no way where they fealimg sorry for us and very smart about the hole affair.
just made the game in time all the same

Well they took over £1100 in unauthorized payments from my credit card which took over 6 weeks to get back and I didn't even get an apology!

The guy who runs Ryanair has to be one of the most unlikable little bastards I've ever seen interviewed. Unless you happen to be a Ryanair shareholder, I guess.

In their defense, any time I go to WHL I fly from Dublin to Stanstad and get the Express to Tottenham Hale.

I've never paid more than €40 for flights for myself and my son and the flight is almost always cheaper than the Stanstead Express and a lot cheaper than tickets to the game!!!

It's a good tip - thanks.

However i will never fly Ryanair again. Done it once, late night flight home to London from Berlin. Two hours late. Just wanted to sleep but kept being waken up by voice-overman trying to sell me scratch cards. Not impressed.

Can you buy the vouchers on the ryanair site , and how much are they?

looks like you still have to pay 5€ hadnling fee for the vouchers. Plus what happens if the cost of the flight is 90€ and I pay with 100€ gift voucher, I lose 10€ ?

Vouchers are non-refundable.
There is a €5/£5 (or local currency equivalent) handling fee for processing the purchase of gift vouchers.
Vouchers can only be redeemed on www.ryanair.com.
Gift vouchers must be redeemed within 6 months (186 days) of the voucher issue date after which date the voucher becomes void.
The validity of the vouchers cannot be extended.
Vouchers are issued in denominations of €25/€50 or local currency equivalent.
If a voucher is partially redeemed the remaining balance is void.
Vouchers are only valid for the person named as the voucher recipient.
A maximum of 4 vouchers can be used to purchase a flight. If the total amount of ticket price exceeds the value of the voucher(s) any price difference must be paid by credit or/debit card.
Vouchers are only valid for the payment of Ryanair flights and any associated taxes, fees and charges.
Gift vouchers can only be redeemed in the currency of issue.
Name changes are not permitted when a reservation has been paid for using a gift voucher.
