Whether Lennon plays on the right or the left, at least he gives it a go and doesn't throw an almighty strop that the whole team isn't being built around him.

I'd prefer to see him on the right with Bale playing on the left. I did like it last season when he'd swap sides halfway through a half and it really created problems for the opposition's defence.

Newcastle were as bad as us for the first 43 minutes and their fans were starting to get a bit restless. Say we scored first, it could have just as easily been the other way round. I am not suggesting that Jol is a master tactician or even that he is likely to be here in a few weeks, but when he brought Keane on for Defoe and the game turned for us, he was roundly boo'd and I cannot remember anyone saying that it was a tactical masterstroke at the time.

It is quite frustrating reading this board (and numerous others) at times as we will happily gloss over the positives (should have beaten Liverpool/ played exceptionally well at OT) to concentrate on the negatives. This season has not gone well so far, but to replace the manager, coaching staff, board, half the team and anyone else associated with the club is a bit drastic, especially without a viable alternative. How do we know what is going on behind the scenes, MJ may be packing his bags but could equally be sitting down the the coaching staff and senior management devising a strategy to overcome the weaknesses in the team.

I have said before and will continue to say, that Jol often sets the team up in a very good manner. Once the game has started, it is often the case that we dominate at home and stifle away from home. We are a bit fragile confidence wise, but that will return as it often happens, and we have seen down the road what can happen when you have a young talanted team that is brimming with confidence. The good times will return and WHL will start rocking again as we start to turn some of the draws over the lats few weeks into wins and some of the defeats.... oh hang on, WE HAVE ONLY LOST ONE GAME IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever you are taking to make you so happy, can you please send some of it my way??? I could do with a pick-me-up.

I am not especially happy about the situation, but when viewed holistically it is neither that bad nor that important. 10 games gone and 7 points won does not mean that we will only have 25 points at the end of the season.

We are only 11 points from Portsmouth in 5th and 12 points from Liverpool in 4th. The season has a long way to go and I think that we will have a very good run ahead of us. With the team the age that it is, it will not take too much to turn the confidence around and then watch them go.

I think that we have already played 3 of the top 6 away from home and a good number of the top 10 (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle, Villa, Everton). If you include us, that will mean we still have 3 top 10 sides and 6 bottom 10 sides to play in the first half of the season.

So can I pass you on my optimism and realism rather than the pills that you were obviously referring to.

I wonder whether Jol deberately tries to unsettle Berbatov by substituting or dropping im from the starting 11. For all these actions will lead eventually to selling Berbatov at a cut price.

Your glass is obviously half empty and mine is maybe a bit fuller. Lets just agree to disagree and you can continue to allow yourself to get angry about it and I will not let it consume me.

WHAT?!? Why on earth would it be in a managers best interest to unsettle a player so that he can eventually be sold for a cut price? Did you even think about that before you typed it?

Jol knows pretty well he has no future at Spurs any more. He will get a lot of money to leave his postion. He helps Berbatov to move to a bigger club.

Utter madness, possibly the craziest thing i've read all day and that includes the suggestion we should employ Sammy lee!

Actually, you didn't understand the hidden meaning. It's a dilemma: either Jol is stupid enough to unsettle his best player or he deliberately works against club's interests. For it's pretty clear that Jol's decisions unsettle Berbatov. I'd find it astonishing if Berbatov is still here in February.

why is he unsettling him, by resting him after a international break, where he picked up a knock? why would he ruin the club that still employs him, make himself look stupid and inept basically putting himself out of the running at any club he wants to take over?

The hidden meaning was that we have a lot of games in the next few weeks that he may be required for. He was also involved in a lot of the games that have happened in the last few weeks.

Jol may have thought that he could do with a rest.... or alternatively, Jol has secretly negotiated a deal with another club that means that he transfers our best player on the cheap and then takes over as manager. hmmmmmmm you may be onto something there

Berbatov was fully fit and wanted to start. That's dead certain. He had 5 days after the Albania game. He wasn't tired at all. And the Necastle game was more important, as a negative result vs Getaffe could be compensated later.

Everyone who doesn't see that Jol's decisions unsettle Berbs should check his/her head.

And I forgot that we all support Dimitar Berbatov and not the other players. I admire your allegiance to him, but it was a gamble that could have paid off. Berba's attitude was not exactly endeering though (assumig the rumours to be true)

Unsettling a player from that caliber cannot be paid off.

Either try to keep him happy or try to sell him for a lot of money. Jol's decisions neither keep Berbatov happy, nor keep his market value from the summer. He may leave eventually for less money than Spurs gave for Bent.

Of course, there is another possibility: Berbatov is already sold to..., and Jol and the club managment do not care about his market value.

Anyone who cares more for a single player than the good of the team should get his/her head checked.

For some simple reason everything that concerns Berbatov's form and future concerns the good of the team as well. Maybe it's not so easy to realise it...

According to a post on FTL ,TT gave an interview after the game to Finnish TV stating that he was suprised to have been brought on as he was not fit only having had one practise match since injury. He was also not sure which wing he was supposed to play on and during the game was told at least four times to swap wings he was currently on.
So despite having an England specialist winger to put on ,our genius manager puts on a half fit player without even giving him clear instructions as to where to play.Even worse when he does put on AL he manages to put him on the wrong wing too.
Please Jol fans explain how this is the boards fault.

LOL
you can only laugh if true
