The negative atmosphere created by Tottenham's fans at their White Hart Lane home is damaging the players' confidence, says Emmanuel Adebayor.

The interview is the best I've heard from a Spurs player and isn't the banal tripe they spew out through the official channels. I am worried that the players don't get what the manager wants; but you have to cut your cloth according to your means and I think MP has to rethink his philosophy (which Emmanuel Kant follow at the moment). As regards his trademark game, then he should school the U21s and U18s.
The fans were great in the second half, at least those who aren't the miserable shits with prostate problems who usually sit there moaning for England.
As regards Adebayor, it seems for some people the fact that he played for Arsenal can never be forgotten; I've even read the "washes elephants" abuse come out and be passed off as OK because a black friend said it. Honestly, what kind of pea-brained ****s do we have amongst us that they "think" that's OK?

Second part of the interview as reported at http://www.theguardian.com/football...debayor-tottenham-crowd-white-hart-lane-stoke is much more interesting re: Poch:
“He’s a good manager and we just have to find a way so that we can try to understand what he wants to tell us and how he wants us to play and put that on the pitch. If every player could do what the manager wants then we would win the Champions League. But at the moment we are not getting the message. To me, he is a good manager and a good man – we just have to get what he is telling us. “We have to get used to him. He is the new manager and it is tough. Tactically, he is working hard, he is trying to make us understand what the opponents will try to do and what we have to do to score goals and win the games. But at the moment there is a blockage somewhere. Hopefully we can overcome that. Football is a funny game. You play one game and score one goal and everybody says: ‘Hey, things have changed for you."

Quite clever their from Ade. Talk about a back-handed compliment.

That doesn't sound like a very good manager at all if he can convey his ideas appropriately.

Didn't seem to have a problem at southampton and all the players showered him with love and praise and didn't want him to go.

I think it just might have something to do with our players.

Very interesting point and one discussed at length on this forum. I've never been one of these "build the new stadium and all of our problems will be over" people. I do think though that a new stadium would/could tip the balance away from the old and cynical fans toward the enthusiastic and positive fans that have had their names down for a season ticket for years and would be delighted to support the team every other week.

You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink! That's the horses job.

Our players have the inability to take in what poch is saying, they need to learn and learn dam quick!

I say just fuck 'em off and bring in players he targets that he knows will have a clue.

Yeah it's all the fans fault that you're playing so poorly and if they were shouting you on more then we wouldn't have lost 4 home games already. Get real Ade. All I read from this is they are too simple to grasp the ideas and maybe this also contributed to Avb looking clueless. I really don't think the squad attitude is great. That said, Poch REALLY confusing me with team selections and not helping himself at all.

the most interesting quote for me in the whole interview was in the Guardian one,

"Obviously all managers bring their own philosophies, the way they see football, the way they see games and everything. but this is the third or fourth manager in two or three years so we have to stop it just being about the manager."

At least he is admitting that the players are responsible for this shower we are getting served up as well. Strangely honest and open interview IMO and most of what he said makes some sense.

If we are going to play that game, this quote stands out to me:
"we just have to find a way so that we can try to understand what he wants to tell us and how he wants us to play and put that on the pitch."
So Pochettino is a bad communicator.

Well Brad Friedel said similar on Radio 5 before the Man City game, he said it would take until December or January until we see the players properly playing Pochettinos 'style' and for it to start to really show. Just hope the players are actually willing and more importantly able to understand it because it certainly isn't working so far

"With our supporters behind us it makes things easier for us but it's down to us as players to do our bit, because then it can push the team on further."

Roberto Soldado, before the Stoke debacle. Bobby's got the better attitude.
