I'm sure his name has come up in links previously. Scoring at the rate he has been this season and available for free in the summer, he will have quite a few suitors.

Plays in the centre or on the left, like Richarlison, so wouldn't be offering any competition or depth to an area that we need. Our priority in January will hopefully be to upgrade on areas where we have weaknesses / gaps (i.e. RWB, CB and possibly RW).

EDIT: He actually just got called up to replace Kimpembe in the France WC squad, so strong chance we'll see him play.

Having more players who can score goals is never a bad thing. As Marcus isn't going to the WC and we don't know what condition our players will come back in, this would be a very smart signing for us. Especially when you remember that Son is 30, had an indifferent start to the season and recently had facial surgery and is still going to the WC, I don't know what version of Son we'll see when the WC is done.

We will eventually need someone to step in to take over from Son and that player could be Marcus. He's only 25, can play LW and CF, physically imposing, one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga, technically solid and he's very comfortable with both feet as confirmed by his stats this season. 10 goals in the German League are evenly split with Marcus scoring 5 with his left foot and 5 with his right foot. Also, even though he doesn't start on the right, he is capable of playing there and in games, will switch over to that side. I can say with certainty that he's much better suited to the Conte RWF position in our team then Lucas or Gil.

Can't really say I know anything much about him, but he has plenty of pace and physicality for sure. Could be a very sharp bit of business.

It's actually scary how many boxes Marcus ticks in terms of his fit as Conte specific player. Dribbles with his head up, pace for days, great physicality and quite ambipedal. I honestly think he's a much better Son "stand in" than Richarlison. Richy for me is better suited playing centrally and covering for Kane.

If our A team is Deki - Kane - Son
our b team can be Lucas/Gil - Richy - Thuram or even better - play a 352 with Richy & Thuram up-top and you'll have an great blend of physicality, pace and goal threat.

Conte did great things with Lukaku and this guy looks like he has a much wider range of attributes to me.

He had an injury issue last season, which accounts for his drop in output but look at how he bounced back so far this season. His longest barren stretch so far (in the Bundesliga) has been 2 games without a goal or an assist.

Had couple of knee injuries in the past, plus a bad ankle injury, seems somewhat risky depending on the price. He was close to joining Inter at some point so maybe he was scouted while Conte was there.

He's out of contract summer 2023, so, wages aside, relatively cheap or free.

He's a good forward player, scored a nice one on one at the weekend. As a Foals casual I wouldn't want them to lose him, but he'd likely do well in the prem. Trouble is we already signed Richarlison, so we'd be ending up with an overload problem.

However with Son hitting 31 and Kane 30, a front line of Thuram, Richarlison and Kulusevski definitely gives hope for the future.
