According to a report from Football London, Tottenham Hotspur could be tempted to sell Lucas Moura in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Brazilian has been at Tottenham for over four years now. He hasn’t quite been the player Spurs fans hoped he would be when they signed him, but he has come up with a few massive goals for them.

I like lucas but financially it seems like a sensible time to sell him. Another club will probably still pay decent money for him and his highlight reel is top class.

Ali Gold has never rated moura, and is probably driving this story. Apart from that one game, it is true that moura's goal returns are very poor. But his strength is picking the ball up quite deep and driving right through the middle. He'll always get crowded out, but it is not his fault that the resulting free-kicks in promising areas are always wasted.
Maybe the answer is for him to practise free kicks for half his training time, so when he wins the things, he can then finish them off.

He might have never rated him. Still true though.

If Moura is happy to stay as a squad player then with five subs he remains a potentially game changing bench option. Doubt we would succeed in upgrading.

I could see Moura fetching a good price from a promoted side / lower mid table team looking to push on. Would be the right time to sell. He’s had some great moments with us, but is inconsistent and we need better.

I think someone like a NEwcastle could be interested. Decent upgrade on what they have and good interim fit until they start spending bigger money. Dunno if he'd be interested though

Having players like moura, bergwijn and davinson on the bench is a bit of luxury for a non CL side.
So I can well imagine Levy would be looking to move them on, while they still have value.
If we do get 4th place, then perhaps that view would change.

I maintain that moura combined with someone like ward-prowse would be a potent combination.

Nothing to do with what Levy does or doesn't want. Finish 4th, 6th or even 10th it'll still be the same as long as Conte is here.

Sadly, a player of his age who isn't a nailed down starter needs to be moved on for a younger option who can develop and push the first team rather than just accept his lot as a back up.

Same for Winks (even though he's younger). You want your second string to be pushing your first choice players and eventually attempt to replace them.

No brainer. He's 29, not challenging for the starting XI, and has 2 years left on his deal this summer. Hasn't been a poor season by his standards either and I'll imagine he'll have some suitors.

He's a great personality but its time to bring in new blood.

Both could easily move on. At least when Lucas comes on there is a glimmer of hope for a goal. With Winks coming on it does not seem to arouse any positive emotion

I love Lucas, not just for Ajax but in general however no room for sentiments... I want this squad rebuilt - want him out but so many deserve to fuck off before Lucas does.

Lovely bloke. But..... never quite managed to keep up consistency. He's been across the spectrum of performance multiple times.

Hopefully he gets to move on as per comments above, to a side that will benefit. Southampton springs to mind, JWP would be rubbing his hands at the free kick records.....

I wonder why Conte just doesn't see him as a WB option. Even when he comes on to replace a WB Lucas moves up front and Deki moves to WB.
He's not going to be that bad defensively and he has some very valuable qualities for RWB.

He's not in Conte's plans that I'm sure of.

Just because they've been deemed surplus and available, there are a few in there that I don't think we'd be too worried if they end up staying. I can't see us moving out every player on the list for various reasons and he's one you know will give his all regardless. At the same time if the right offer came in it's not like we would hold it up to try to move others out first either.

Because he isn't consistent enough. Personally i think he'd get caught out frequently and I'm not convinced he's a suitable defender. Have to trust conte has thouhhtnit through I suppose.
