No matter Mauricio Pochettino did not appear even remotely upset with Daniel Levy, let alone raging, the tidal wave from ‘the terraces’ was overwhelming.

Let's see how we survive the remainder of the transfer window and where we are at Christmas. After the summer the majority of our first XI have just had, it would be some achievement to still be in the mix in January, but even if we are, it's a monumental task to make it to the end of the season in a CL spot with no reinforcements IMO.

The article is very pro Levi and nothing wrong with that as he deserves our respect for what he has done for the club. However I, like many, believed that to coincide with the opening of our new super duper stadium we would have a couple of signings to help take us to a higher level. If Mauricio is happy so be it, but I feel our bean counter missed an enormous marketing opportunity (example; the young American playing for B.D.) by not bringing in a name player that could play under Mauricio's demanding style. Folklore.

I think a lot of talk about Levy not buying but the whole market was slow. Clubs like Man U, Bayern did not improve. Newcastle sold more than they bought. Context here is important. Nobody wanted to buy at inflated prices unless forced i.e. Chelsea spending 72 mil (net plus 37 mil) on a keeper who is highly rated but a step down on Curtois. Everyone wanted top dollar including Spurs for their players, look a Villa 32 million for a championship player.

Secondly our squad is excellent. Improving it is hard, it is easier to buy players when there are glaring issues but that is not the case.

If we get Wanyama and Winks back in soon we will have genuine depth in all positions and Lamela hopefully won't be out long.

If those three were available yesterday we would have seen them play to rest others.

My biggest worry is that Aurier looks just as bad if not worse. Apart from his assist he lost the ball, made stupid decisions or was hopelessly out of position constantly.

Looks like levy has followed in miss Brady's footsteps and is now writing his own column in the papers now.

I regards to aurier I suppose there is only so much coaching the club can do with him as if he struggles with the basics that's pretty much it.

I’m sure some fans would like to see us crash and burn, just to prove their sorry selves right. We’re absolutely moving in the right direction and have been now for many years, so what if we didn’t sign anyone? This is a positive article about our club (and chairman) coming from the Sun of all places, it just proves how others are beginning to view us now, long may it continue.

Some inaccuracies here. Man U added a 50m plus CM and a real prospect at FB. Bayern and Newcastle irrelevant. Chels spent 30 odd mill replacing their keeper, and added two top drawer CMs.

Our squad is very good but not excellent, but it's down to Poch whether/when he promotes KWP to job share with Trips. We don't lack depth in that position, but will certainly need more quality in for Dembele and Llorente next summer- if we are to challenge for prizes.

The spin doctors are out. We only need 2 or 3 quality players to really improve the squad & we got no one & as we were clearly getting frustrated with our deals I don't understand why we didn't go for broke on one player to show intent & improve what we've got. The player for me was Zaha & if they wanted 70M I think we should have had ago on deadline day or just before to see whether they would have dealt.

Am I raging?
Am I even bovered?
That's nope and nope.
Didn't lose any of our key players.
Or the manager
No European 'aces' to bed in.
No disruption.
Improving and developing team.
Opportunities for our own.
Good start away in our first game.
Rage on people.

Other than the statement regarding Aurier I agree with you. Give the dude time.

Most teams bought players are inflated cost to fill the gap in their first team, Liverpool needed a goalkeeper and CM for their first team.

Arsenal needed players for both their first team and squad.

Chelsea needed to replace their goalkeeper and the new manager effect, needed to get someone in he trusted.

United needed to supplement their CM.

As for spurs, the only possible position was CM. However with wayama and winks, bar injuries both are top players and to replace them for the sake of it will have meant spending excess of 60m. Which we don't have floating around ( we building a new stadium and need to be frugal with our financial muscle).

All in all, I am happy with our nine activity, come January I believe we will buy if required.

I agree but too late by then.

Some people just like to moan. Levy has delivered a world class training facility, world class stadium and Poch. As people have said this was an odd window. Yeah this season will be tough but it was always going to be tough. You can’t make players become available within our budget. We haven’t lost any of our top players and we’ll be there fighting for 2nd-4th at the end of the season. Citeh will win again imo, no one will get close to them.

I can’t agree with that, Dembele and Alderweireld are asking to go, no one wants to buy them, Eriksen isn’t asking to leave.

MD and TA want to leave on their terms. Clubs have tabled offers, but players want the contracts structured to their benefit. Last pay day for both, so understandable.

We don't need to spend huge money to add to the squad. Look at how much Salah went to Liverpool for last year. Their scouting network identified him and got him for half what it would cost us to buy Zaha today. That is the eye we need in the transfer. Even a player like Shaqiri might have been a good option for us off the bench.

Talksport right now saying players don't want to come to Spurs and not start. Funny, they don't say the same about City, Liverpool, United, etc. There is value around Europe. We have found value in England in the likes of Alli, but we need to go get players who could help us add depth and especially pace.

Too late now until the next window. Trust some of the younger players and see how it woks out. Just stay in touch with the top four in the next month and we will be fine. Can't secure a CL spot in September, but can definitely lose it.

that doesn't detract from the need to replace them when they go. I'm desperate for you and others to be right on Eriksen extending, but can't see it myself...

There can be middle ground people. It can be a terrible window but might not mean the total destruction of spurs.
