Just seen this posted on BBC

Tottenham Hotspur say a legal wrangle means they are "highly unlikely" to move into their new stadium as expected for the 2017-18 season.

The news means Spurs must seek an alternative ground to play their home games for one season.

Plans for the 58,000-capacity stadium, next to the current ground, took a big step forward in July when a compulsory purchase order of land was approved.

But Tottenham said the landowners were challenging that decision.

We are a joke of a football club.

They wanted an extortionate amount of money.... we should have paid it.

Levy cutting his nose off to spite his face as usual.

It's going to/ has cost us much more long term dealing with this bollox.

Hands up anyone east of Enfield who will be schlapping to Wembley or MK 25 times a season? (Quiet)

It's easy to spend other peoples money. In the same position, you wouldn't pay either.

Wow...such a compelling and factually obese argument.....must've taken you ages to put this together.

It's comments like these which make me question humanity.

It's just a delay, Archway have no grounds for appeal as the correct procedures were adhered to during the CPO process as is clear from the excessive time it took for the secretary of state to sign it off. That being the case this may delay things a year and I guess the move away is a choice to speed up the time from spade to full completion, remember we weren't going to have full capacity in the first season as it wasn't complete.
Do we want to reward the Josif family's greed for the sake of a season during which we will still have an income wherever we play?

Its a case of supply and demand. We need the land, they own it. CPO is actually up there with the all the other tosspot rules that benefit the 1% in this country. If someone told you you had no choice but to sell your land, or business, would you roll over?

These Archway Metal people are selfish and grasping.
It's us that are greedy. He owns the land, and has done for donkeys years. We don't have a devine right to it.

Pay up, and get the land. Geezer wanted 25 bars. Land is probably worth a mil tops at a guess. Reckon LEvy tried to compromise?? Dont make me laugh.

The extensive post.....with facts...summarised as...

Even if this held us up for 1 year already, we would still earn 4-5 million a home game (basd off Arsenals figures) , so surely worth the extra cash stumped up just to get them off the land??

I have seen it said before that they have moved the goalposts on more than one occasion. Sometimes they flat out refuse to negotiate, other times name a price, then up it... etc etc. As has been said, 70 businesses have been relocated with very little problem so I hardly feel this is the clubs fault, its been 7 years of negotiations... Sometimes a person/company just stick to a viewpoint (Archway's being they don't want to move) no matter how illogical it seems.

And what do you suggest when they move the goalposts and demand more....and then more.
Do u not think that a very successful businessman might've....y know....already thought of that?

they wan more than that so we migh as well wait, we as a club are not being greedy we have paid reasonable fees for all the properties we have bought none of whom have been avericious and greedy and have settled.
If I was offered a good market price plus a new bigger site and compensatory moving costs I'd have taken it knowing that it was going to benefit the people of the area, but then of course what benefits the people of he area would be important to me, clearly to some people it doesn't.

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories but it really wouldn't surprise me to find out that someone with a vested interest in us not progressing was bankrolling all of this.
