I am doing my school research essay based on the Economics of football in England. and I cam across some information that we have been taken over!

I have not yet decided what the title of my essay is going to be.. But I was searching 'Tottenham Hotspur PLC' on Google and found this on Hemscott.

After viewing Tottenham's company page I noticed that it said 'Takeover announced; A takeover situation has been announced for this company, please see company news page' I can't view the news page as I'm not a premium member of the Hemscott site, any a member that can see it and tell us about it?

THFC have offered to buy back all shares owned by the public for about £131 pence if I remember correctly. They are intending to delist I think.

How many shares do they need to be able to delist PT?

I'd be very surprised if someone launched a take over bid now. 6 months or a year ago, I'd have been very surprised for a take over to have not happened before now. The reality is that the chances are, whoever buys a club of our size is going tio ahve to borrow money and in the same way the conditions aren't ideal for the club the finance our stadium at the moment, they aren't ideal to finance deals to buy football clubs. It will be very interesting to see how the club present the end of year accounts. Last season they were like a "for sale" sign.
