You must have known that you would get burned for this post.

Yes but thats how i felt at the time of posting and i just wanted to share it.

Its good most people disagree with my current emotion. However, i have only seen spurs win 2 league cups since that FA Cup win in 91. We are a not a mickey mouse club, we have always spent good money and i feel we have very little to show for it in past 27 years.

Have to say though will be cheering on whoever gets Juventus in the next round. Cheillini is the biggest cheat in football if a striker throw himself about the way he does they would be slaughtered for it. And the way they talk about other teams is so disrespectful they from the manager and the players.

First loss in 17 games and Poch is taking flak.

Absolutely fucking incredible.

:banghead:

Poch has done incredible things for our club and we have been on a fantastic run.
Tonight however I think it’s fair to say his managerial counterpart got the better of him. Inspired formation and personnel changes for Juve, Poch slow to react with our subs ineffective.
I don’t think Poch needs to take a load of flak for this but I do feel it was the games turning point.

So just to clarify, the reason we lost to one of the best teams in a Europe is because we don't have a player like Younes Kaboul or Michael Dawson?

Or is this just a post match beer fuelled nonsense thread?

We wouldn’t have lost to Juve with Kaboul in the team...

Cos we wouldn’t have got past the group stages!

I think it just hurts so much as we were so close to a massive result but we were not winning this competition, look at the sides still in it.

We need to just get top 4 and PLEASE Poch go all out for the FA cup now, you have nothing else and I cant deal with a summer of press talking about us not winning anything and losing players.

Proud of the team but fail to get top 4 this year and win nothing will be a really shit end to the season so lets hope we bounce back on Sunday and get back on a run and sow up top 4 and get the FA Cup back to where it belongs...!

Fa cup and top 4 now will do nicely. It’s not over just yet folks.

Pissed the dippers have now gone further than us though. Brother is a dipper but has been surprisingly pro-spurs tonight. I hate the dippers full stop.
We got a tough draw unlike them.

That's the problem. Not one player stepped up today when the going got tough. We were the better team for 160 out of 180 minutes this tie. But in those 20 minutes when things fell apart and mentalities were tested, we collapsed.

Hugo, while I love him, is not a captain. Michael Dawson, Scott Parker, hell even Younes Kaboul. Those are captains, those are leaders. Those are the players who'll run 100 yards across the pitch to defend a player in a confrontation, those are the guys who will yell at you, who will huddle up the team and motivate a side to run through walls. It's not good enough just to lead by ability and what you do on the field at this level. And while our squad improves skill-wise every season, we never end up with a general on the field.

There's no leader in the side. I can't even think of one in the squad. Juve have about 5 of them. That's the difference.

Look mate, we're all down, but Kaboul!? Come on, seriously, Kaboul!? The bloke that used to just shake his head when we were 4-0 down against teams...

Naive by the manager and players in the 2nd half tonight.
The goals conceded would of been fair enough if we were chasing two goals to win the tie but being in front they were shocking.

It's what I expect having been Spurs for so long though.

No pressure on him whatsoever, besides the pressure he puts on himself of course.

for sure if we fail those two objectives he wouldnt lose his job, massive pressure on himself indeed, big few months ahead but im sure he can deliver

Great tournament from us, they make me proud. If anyone thinking poch needs to learn, I think he has earned the right to get the chance to learn. look at the Improvment from last year.

He’s allowed to be criticised if he didn’t react to a change in formation that led to them scoring their goals ffs.

No problem with a bit of criticism, but some of the comments in this thread are embarrassing to say the least. Funny thing is some of these posts are coming from posters that take the piss at the over reactions from the posters on Rawk.

We switched off and switched out. We were the best team almost by far, but you can't give an inch at this level. If we want to be the top team then we have to learn from this.

Now you know why other teams hate Dele

Chellini just spoke very well I thought.....said it came down to experience at this level and he’s probably right.

Yeah same. Obviously a very emotional night for a lot of the Juventus players. He’s right their experience took them through. We’ll learn from this, we are still really inexperienced at this level. Let’s concentrate on top 4 and FA Cup. Go again at the weekend and take it out on Bournemouth.

Is that all you live for? To tell people they are wrong or to shit on people when they have just watched the club they love get knocked out of the champions league? Why do you even bother fucking posting? It’s like you’re an emotionless robot that just wants to criticise people because they show passion for their club.

Are you taking joy in it? You don’t seem at all bothered by the result, more focused on trying to take sly pops at a fellow spurs supporter than actually giving a shit about the result?

I don’t want to hear some happy clapper bollocks right now, we had the tie in our hands and WE blew it.

Tactically naive, mentally feel apart after they scored their first goal as well.

The questions are always going to be asked about us until we actually show up in games like this, away against Juve we showed a maturity that felt like we had turned a massive corner, same thing in the first half tonight.

But the SECOND that goal went in for Juve I could see it written across our players, THOSE are the moments when we see just how far we have come and every single time
over the last two years one of those moments have presented themselves we have done this, failed to finish the job, it’s continuous false dawns for us, at some point we have to learn.

Also, some of us are capable of changing our minds rather than thinking in a linear fashion, you can criticise me all you want and I might even look back at this post tomorrow and cringe and feel stupid but at least I know I had the fucking guts to
speak my mind and not be some sheep that constantly takes pleasure in making other spurs supporters feel like shit about emotional reactions for their team.

I love Spurs and it hurts when shit like this has happened watching them my entire life.

It happens time and time again, I am sick of saying “Oh well, maybe next year” or “So proud of the lads” when I know we are good enough to win games like this, we were the better team tonight but due to our tactical naivety and inability to find that winning edge that we desperately need, we have failed, again.

I am logging off for the night, you can take pleasure in moaning at other spurs supporters for once.

Couldn't have said it better myself. That's the difference between fans like you and him though, one deeply cares about Spurs, the other deeply cares about proving a point.

One thing's for sure, we still don't know how to keep calm and keep possession against better teams. So many times players looked like they didn't know what to do so they just kicked the ball somewhere and after that let juve attack. Thats the most annoying thing.
