post of the night....need to copy and paste it around the site mate.Go to bed, you got school in the morning.
It just really makes you realise, how brutal a competition the champions league is to be honest. You need to be at some level to come through three 2 legged ties against good opposition and to then still win the final.
That's the problem. Not one player stepped up today when the going got tough. We were the better team for 160 out of 180 minutes this tie. But in those 20 minutes when things fell apart and mentalities were tested, we collapsed.
Hugo, while I love him, is not a captain. Michael Dawson, Scott Parker, hell even Younes Kaboul. Those are captains, those are leaders. Those are the players who'll run 100 yards across the pitch to defend a player in a confrontation, those are the guys who will yell at you, who will huddle up the team and motivate a side to run through walls. It's not good enough just to lead by ability and what you do on the field at this level. And while our squad improves skill-wise every season, we never end up with a general on the field.
There's no leader in the side. I can't even think of one in the squad. Juve have about 5 of them. That's the difference.

This is why people get annoyed at our players being called a "disgrace" and "shameful".
Son is out here almost fucking crying for spurs and is called a "disgrace". I'd rather lose this game 100 times with our "legends" then win with mercenaries like the scum have and get a shiny piece of metal for it.
This, also us scoring didn't change anything for them. They knew they still needed to score at least once possibly twice.
There's a reason why they have won 5 serie a titles in a row. And also made CL finals. Juve are a fantastic team, we pushed them all the way but ultimately were just a bit short.
That's the hurdle we have, competing with these top teams and winning the matches at the business end when it really matters. It's not an easy hurdle to overcome.
Exactly, how was it shameful that Pochettino just happened to be out thought by Allegri for 5-10 minutes?I absolutely cannot understand all these cries of "shameful" and "disgraceful" coming out tonight.
It makes no sense to me at all and it's fucking pathetic. Some fans seem to have absolutely no sense of context or judgement of what they've seen.

Then again if we’d sat back and invited more pressure and they scored 2 that way Poch would be slated for being too negative so not sure I agree really. Our game management was fine for most of the game except about 5 minutes and most especially after they got back to 1-1 we should’ve at that point shut up shop a bit an cut their momentum at least for 10 mins or so.
I also didn’t understand why we were trying to take every free kick and throw in as quick as possible all game. That made no sense
Until we win something this is fact. But it’s also bollocks. Winning breeds winning. We did better than last year. And the year before that. The Champs league is a gravy train. And the Juves and Madrid’s have had a seat at the table for 20 years. That 17 more years experience than we have. They have all that experience. And experience counts. Yes we lose big games. But every time we do we learn. And we get better. There’s. No shame Im what happened tonight. No shame at all.Did anyone see Chiellini's interview? Basically he said they knew that Spurs do not have a history of going through in big games like this so they believed they would go through or at least have chances.
Unfortunately this is the difference with a team that has won lots of trophies both historically and in recent years, we're not at that stage yet. But the more big games should only add to the learning experience.

So, this is what happens when top players tend to win big games. For example, you could be winning against Djokovic or Federer, even be on match point, but the moment you start thinking you've won is when you lose. That's what happened tonight. We also have to look at how Juve defend and learn, because the standard of defending in the EPL is low.I've come to the conclusion that the way to play in any game is as if you are 1 nil down, whatever the score. You keep to the game plan but keep the mindset as if you can't afford to concede another goal and keep pushing to score to get back in the game.
Maybe I'm too simplistic, or maybe I'm a bit pissed, but it strikes me as though the most important aspect of most game is having the right mindset or attitude. The important part of that is to not ease up on the intensity if you get ahead. My impression is that Juve lulled us into a false sense of security and we fell for it. It was their experience that won the game, not their ability, or our lack of it. The important part now is to learn from the bitter experience.
Keep the faith, COYS.
