I’m not really buying this whole Poch got it wrong thing. We were superb first half and the only fault was not taking our chances.

We were on top early in the second half and when Allegri made his changes I have to say they looked pretty innocuous. Their first goal was against the run of play but well worked and the second was a nice touch by Higuain but pretty dopey defending and Hugo very slow of his line.

I am genuinely interested in what people think Poch should have done between their first and second goals? Because I didn’t notice any massive shift in the game between minutes 60 (the subs) and 64 (the first goal).

My only question of Poch is really why we didn’t use the third sub. Did he have one eye on extra time thinking MD might not make it? Even so, with Juve so deep surely chucking Moura on for Trippier wouldn’t have hurt?

Overall I’m disappointed, gutted but also proud of how we’ve equipped ourselves in Europe this year. Of our 8 games, 6 have been tougher than anything United or Liverpool have faced thus far and apart from two dodgy spells v Juve we’ve been bloody brilliant.

Never. Liverpool hadn’t won the league in 15 years when they won - that’s as much of an outlier as you’ll fine. Pretty sure every other champions league winner won their domestic league either that season or in the ones Immediately before or after

Yeah and with Liverpool I think they'd won UEFA cup and FA cups and league cups in build up to their CL.

And a final point, I was sat next to a proper ‘one of thrk’ Spurs fans tonight. Didn’t stop yapping all the way through, every missed pass was ‘dele you’re sh*t’ and then he walked out when it went 2-1 - what a tit. Have these guys always been around or are they a new phenomenon?

well that sucked but Juve have buckets more experience than us in big games and it showed in the last half hour. honestly I thought we had it in the bag in then they effortlessly switched gears. props to them.

I blame poch for his tactics.

I blame levy for hiring him.

I blame the players for not putting the ball in the net.

I blame the fans for lack of support.

I blame the weather for not lightening bolting their players.

I blame god cause ultimately he started this whole shit.

I blame the opposition for not being ****s.

I blame the fans for not singing too loud.

Ultimately i blame myself for caring too much.

So what is the point of wanting to ve in it next season? Did Porto think that when they won?

Porto won their domestic league. Champions league history suggests you need to do that first/simultaneously if you’re going to win the thing (unless you’re Liverpool, when winning UEFA/fa/League Cup/charity shield in the 4 years preceding can be a decent stand in)

Seeing people saying that maybe we will have easier games if we're in it next season. Whilst that's all well and good, surely we want to play the likes of Juventus, Real and Dortmund? That's why we're in the competition, to play the best of the best.

I take full responsibility for this defeat, we have lost 2 games at Wembley this season and they were the only 2 I’ve been to

Gutting to go out considering how we dominated the tie, but if we’ve got to the stage where we are genuinely disappointed to lose a champions league tie against Juventus then it shows how far we’ve come

Lol we were never going to win it. Yes we could have won this tie but Juve aren't on the same level as bayern, barca, man city or even madrid (who have stepped it up by beating PSG).

I'm disappointed that we're out but at least it showed our deficiencies so that we can improve for another push next season. You need experience and a plan B, C and D to win it. We have little experience and only a plan B. Juve used all of it tonight to get over us.

I think its pretty obvious that now that we've been dumped out the UCL, then 4th is a priority. But it was and should always have been a priority in any case as we had a near impossible chance of winning the UCL anyway.

Bottom line is we need to get everyone pumped up and ready for Bournmouth as thats going to be a very tough game imo.. Lucas and Lamela have to start that game now...
