I can't get this loss out of my head
Speaking of Chiellini, he bottled two CL finals and one euro cup final. All he won were domestic trophies, and there was no italian teams was as good as Juve for a few years. Oh, and he was not included in the 2006 world cup squad. So, he is really an expert in bottle and failure.
Thought Kane had him in his pocket 1st half, unfortunately they swapped roles 2nd halfSpeaking of Chiellini, he bottled two CL finals and one euro cup final. I can't get this loss out of my head. I still feel as deflated now as I did last night.

Yes, its the sort of chance he normally scoresJust watching the first half and I think Kane could have done better after rounding Buffon. I was at the other end of the stadium so couldn't see the angle and it was tight but it was one hell of a chance.
We played better than them over the two legs but some naive defending in both games plus not putting chancs away did for us, last nigh at 1-0 We should have had our foot on their throat and banged a second in had we done that then this thread would be a lot different today.Just watched the game to make myself sad again ! Its funny how the pundits' narrative chages based on hindsight. Chiellini was' vunerable, slow and a liability' in the first half but ended up the greatest defender known to man. I thought Steve Geerrard was very good and he made it clear that we totally dominated the majority of both games and were pretty unlucky. Driving home last night, I had to put up with Jason (' fun boy) Cundy basically blaming the whole thing on Poch being ' schooled' by Allegri - ridiculous, the game should probably have been out of reach before he made his 'genius' tactical moves. I dread to think what the prize pratt , Adrian Durham, wll come up with later. The media now seems to be shifting its narrative a bit from ' Spurs must win silverware or they will self combust' to ' the reason Spurs aren't winning silverware is down to Poch and what if they had a Mourninho, Conte or Allegri'. This was the Champions Leage not the Carabou Cup. It's tough and we would have been one of the outsiders in the last 8. There are only so many trophies to go round and just to be competing at the sharp end of them ( including the top 4 race) is an achievement in itself.
It's easy to be wise after the event. We were massively on top and had we started to defend deeper and allow them to come on, and they scored twice then Poch would have been crucified for not pushing on.
Despite their goal, I would have thought Poch would believe the team would react better than to allow a second 2 mins later.
Once that had gone in, he had no choice but to roll the dice slightly. They did what they had to and fair fucks to them. Learn from it, especially the Chiellini quotes and make sure we have something 'arrive at the end'
Our inexperience in the latter stages of the CL and against a very strong and experienced side and manager, showed. It was plain to see that we were allowing them to get back into the game, then they equalized and it went from there.
Sanchez is great but he is a kid. Its in games like these that we do need a Toby along side Jan in addition to the others.
We only have ourselves to blame, we let them back in and they showed us their gratitude.
