Looks like a diamond in midield. I guess we're looking to soak up pressure and play on the counter like last time in this fixture.

Dier
Winks--------Dembele
Eriksen
Makes sense but Eriksen needs to run the show today if this is going to work

Also get that. But if Dier is the third CB, that would be potentially shit, given Sanchez is actually a more natural CB and a fuck load quicker. My concerns might be totally misfounded if we play a 41212 with Dier at the base but other than that I can’t see us playing a 433 with only one natural wide player nor a 4231 with Dier, Winks and Dembele in midfield. So if it’s a diamond midfield that makes sense but if we go 3/5 at the back with Dier over Sanchez then that’s not as logical.

Or we use dier as a CM that can drop back to CB to help defend? Gives eriksen more freedom going forward but more body's at the back when defending? As good as Sanchez is and I like him, he isn't true same player there.

Need Rose of old today, Vert's and Toby to remind all and sundry why they are the leagues best CB pairing.

Dembele to twat Katie in Midfield, Eriksen to be the master of the show. All nicely topped off with Kane and Moura scoring a few to silence the Scouse and allowing for operation piss-take Saturday to commence.

COYS!.

He was England’s man of the match against Switzerland and looked like he was back to his best.
I am glad we are playing Rose over Davies, offers more going forward and will cause them problems

Got a feeling we'll regret not playing Sanchez and three at the back but hopefully Poch proves me wrong once again. COYS.

Be surprised if we're not calling for Dier to be subbed sooner rather than later in this game.

Though, hoping he chooses this one to go up a level and prove me wrong.

Not 100% confident in playing Dier, Dembele and Winks in the same lineup, but definitely intrigued as to how it will play out.

If you are Sanchez do you start getting pissed off that Toby is undeservedly back ahead of you?

I think the game plan is keep possession and try to pick Liverpool off. Winks isn't a player to help you contain but a player to keep the ball

3 at the back would be total suicide today.

Unthinkable carnage.

We need put that one to the side for a good while.

I’m a natural pessimist but equally love nothing more than being proven wrong. I’m worried about missing Sanchez’s pace but really hope Poch nails this today

I guess the plan is when we get forward the fullbacks pushon to give us the width and Dier splits the centre backs. If pegged back we have a compact midfield to get back into shape. The pace of Moura will then become key on the counter.

It shows a lot that Poch is changing the setup so often to keep teams guessing. He doesn't have new signings so it becomes more important.

If he's smart, he'll just watch and learn.

He'll be here for many season to come, Toby won't.

Also a long season and he'll get lots of time.
