This isn't 4-3-3 though.

The shape is fine... Apart from being ultra narrow... And then when we lose the ball we immediately have midfielders expected to constantly rush 20-30-40 yards to try and cover spaces... And they always have fullbacks open to switch the play, overload our flanks and generally just run covering midfielders into the ground and open gaps as they pull us about.... Oh and we just cant press in general with two central strikers up top, a No.10 in no mans land and a narrow midfield.

But yes, the shape is fine......

One of the 3 mids will drop at point to pick the ball up and Eriksen will drop to help develop so it looks like a diamond, but essentially it's 433 (which a diamond is a variant on, anyway).

I expected us to be more open, not least because poch hasn't picked the best players on offer to play here today, but also due to the shape.

But it allows us to be more dynamic if used properly.
