Also, I’m sorry but Moura won’t make it here as a starter. He can be devastatingly quick, a brilliant individual, but not dynamic enough to dictate the team performance week in week out.

Strange time to say that when he was one of the very small positives today.

Worst performance under Pochettino.
There's nothing I hate more than hyperbole.

We have played worse in a lot of games under Poch. I'm not excusing this performance, we were sloppy to the extreme, made tons of unforced errors and didn't take the game to them at all in the last 15 minutes when we should be pressing, pressing, pressing. But if this is the worst you've seen you haven't seen many games.

Poch needs to stop being a smartass with changing the formation in every single game. 3atb, 3CMs. Shit needs to stop and be put on hold.

1 GK, 4 defenders, 2 CMs, 3 AMs and a striker. Get back to basics with our starting 11. Poch is tinkering way too much.

Honestly feel like we lose everytime we try to play it safe. The thinking this game was probably that he was too afraid of Liverpool, so that’s why we started with Winks, Dembele and Dier. Unfortunately Poch forgot that you actually have to pass it forward in football.

So many things wrong at the moment.

1. Our players need to stop trying to play every game. It’s a joke that Kane was picked for England recently.

2. Poch needs to realise before the 70th minute that the formation wasn’t working.

3. None of the players looked like they gave a shit, was like AVB days.

4. Lack of signings has really made us stale. We don’t have a decent CM at the club. Was embarrassing today.

I don't like to lay into our players and performances but today is inexcusable.

- Lazy passing.
- Being caught on the ball
- No cohesion or direction
- No drive
- No energy
- No fight (just rolling over)
- Players hiding (Eriksen)

Having said that if we rewind back to the end of last season the team were clearly out on their legs and you could see that they were really struggling to keep the push going. It's at this point that there should have been an injection of new players because I feel some of these players are struggling to keep up the fight and desire at the club. New signings maintain that drive to be successful otherwise things stagnate.

I was thinking the other day about the likes of Dembele and Toby and their potential exits. What has that done to their mindset? Still want to win trophies here? Able to go the extra mile? I'm sure that some of the players have doubts in their minds.

It's a real testing time for the club now.

Secondly, with most people (mostly the fans) expecting today's game to have been in the NWHL, that's clearly got to have an effect on the spirit of the club. Compare that to Liverpool who sign two high quality players and make a statement, well it's created a huge lift and positivity for them. Whereas I think we've had the adverse effect. I'm sure stuff like this makes a difference.

Having said that, no excuse for how easy we rolled over today. Pathetic.

Kane needs a wake up call. The poorest performance from him I have ever seen. He needs to be honest to everyone if he is really feeling the fatigue, he should have backed off for the best of the team.

Agreed, he should have pulled out of the meaningless friendlies like big players do.....he is fucked and I am not surprised, we are so reliant on him and he is burnt out

One thing is for sure. The team is going through a very difficult period with fitness, mindset, organisation, everything. It will take a couple of months to sort it out.

Who'll win the battle of worst performance? Vorm, Dier, Rose, Winks, Erkisen all Kane all deserve to be in the conversation.
Dier was in a class by himself. I don't think I saw him do one good thing today.

I actually thought Rose played pretty well.

hard to run in behind when the pass never comes, all we saw today was dembele, winks and dier move the ball backwards and sideways before one of them losing it, our midfield and wingbacks are the problem not lucas

I think it mostly depends on what we do without the ball.

Whether we are looking to push higher up the pitch and press, or sitting deep behind the ball and playing on the counter (as we did last season), it's got to be done as a collective and everyone pulling their weight (plus a sensible shape/formation to reflect the tactics).

If we get what we've largely got so far this season... Too open between the lines, poor pressing as both a team and individuals, allowing the opposition far too much easy space to exploit and then eventually give up numerous chances... Then it wont be a pleasant watch at all I suspect. This game we need to have a really strong team performance and arrive into the new season.

This is the post I made during the week at the start of the thread...... We got more of the same, so I'm not shocked as to what occurred.

That might not be the heaviest defeat of the Poch era, but for me I think today that becomes the most embarrassing 90 minutes. An absolute clusterfuck throughout in most facets of the game. Really we should have been up near conceding double figures.

Poch has some long, hard thinking to do. He needs to look at the team/individuals, he needs to look at what he is doing, and he has to find the answers. Because I see some really large danger signs right now, they've been there in all the games - win or lose.

I said it in the summer Dembele is past it a season too far for him and Dier and Winks just aren't good enough.

Criminal that we didn't sign anyone. Look how much better Liverpool look than us and they showed ambition and signed some top players.

Our CM area is shit.
I know but those who think that way got absolute shit in the window for voicing this concern. It’s shocking really, the level of negligence in not recognising this or doing something about it

The worst thing about that stonewall penalty not given is that the Scousers will all scream "payback" for the Anfield game last season despite all calls in that match being totally legit.

That has to be up there as one of the worst performances since Pochettino took charge. No energy, no creativity, no defending. Just fucking turgid. Mistake after mistake. A very worrying display.
Not sure how he explains that mess.

I thought the Utd game was going to be something to push on from with confidence, the opposite has occurred, I've not seen us so nervous, sloppy and lacking in confidence these last two games. Not sure what's gone on but it's just odd.

We need to sort it out sharpish otherwise we won't get out of CL group or be playing CL at new stadium next season.
