It's going to get worse before it gets better. Most of our team needs a long rest and a proper pre season
I agree and it all comes back to the point of not freshening things up. A new dynamic CM would have made a hell of a lot of difference.

Praying Wanyama gets back into form and fitness and Winksy can mature quickly.

We were shit but the ref gave us nothing. Both their goals were preventable if hugo plays. Vorm is awful. BUT we created nothing

A worryingly poor performance if I've honest. We really need players who want to do more with the ball out on that pitch now and I'd want to see all of Lamela, Lucas and Son starting, the rest I'm not greatly fussed on. Eriksen and Kane are offering so little in that I'm not sure how much I'd mind if either weren't present right now. Only thing I will say regarding Kane is that I think he will still get goals if we are more productive. Eriksen has looked shocking.

This is the post I made during the week at the start of the thread...... We got more of the same, so I'm not shocked as to what occurred.

That might not be the heaviest defeat of the Poch era, but for me I think today that becomes the most embarrassing 90 minutes. An absolute clusterfuck throughout in most facets of the game. Really we should have been up near conceding double figures.

Poch has some long, hard thinking to do. He needs to look at the team/individuals, he needs to look at what he is doing, and he has to find the answers. Because I see some really large danger signs right now, they've been there in all the games - win or lose.

Midfield is often where games are won and lost, and ours looks piss poor at the moment.

Add in the fact that Kane and Eriksen are miles below their previous levels and Lloris may be out a few more weeks and we could be in for an uncomfortable time in the next few weeks.

What IS the plan this season? Does anybody really know?

Are we going to keep starting a second rate CB in defensive mid?

Or replace him with Wanyama who has not yet convinced whenever he’s come back from his many injuries.

Or maybe winks, unproven at this level if we’re being honest, and is coming back from a year out?

And Dembele? Who can’t start every game, and creates fuck all going forward.

And then there’s Sissoko. But that’s it.

Levy is responsible for the shambles in the summer, so it’s harsh to blame Poch for being confused.

Ur kidding right? Seriously you must be. Harsh on Poch being confused? Poch is working with the same players as last season. What is confusing him? It's not as if he had to fit de Ligt to replace Toby. It's the same defenders that actually did well last season.

Keita was average today and Fabinho didn't make it to the pitch but Klopp still knew what system he was playing. Spending £150m didn't change his system

A lot of pundits are going to look at our lack of spending spree and say 'I told you so' And its not hard to see why. I don't think that there was anything clever in taking that road. I think our performances are beginning to show that.
Personally I think it is more fatigue than new signings. That's not to say I don't agree that a couple of signings would help, but you've got some great players out there who are looking like tired Championship players right now. You can get away with a couple of knackered players, but too many tired and you've got half a team.

Get Kane out of the team and a front 3 of Moura/Son/Lamela and it all looks different for me.

Kane is dictating our performance and our outfield play up top matches him. Dire

Moura should be the first name on the sheet.
As much as I love Kane (we all do), right now he isn't performing and we can't keep putting him in, only to be shot down. I think that front line could be devastating but it won't happen unless kane gets injured.

Seriously disrespectful towards Kane, who has carried our team for the last four seasons.

He is playing out of position to accommodate Moura. That’s what needs to change. It’s not Moura that’s the problem, it’s the system that he doesn’t fit into.

Kane needs a wake up call. The poorest performance from him I have ever seen. He needs to be honest to everyone if he is really feeling the fatigue, he should have backed off for the best of the team.
But we have no one to replace him with so he keeps getting played Mr levy decided that we needed no one so that is that.

The problem I think though is that is more intent on playing and breaking records than recognising he needs a break (that's if he actually does??) It needs a manager to first see it and then have the balls to do something about it. The thing is more and more fans are seeing the issue and therefore the decision for Poch should become easier.
Sure, because Poch hasn't ever shown a stubborn streak or a penchant for sticking with a boneheaded idea or a favored player continuing to play. I can see him making that decision very easily.(y)

This is going to be a long and frustrating season. I think we have to accept it and hope Poch and our big name players don't call it a day at the end of it.

Dreadful. Despite signing no one in the summer it looked a team who's never played together. For years we've been shit at being pressed because we've only one midfielder who's capable of taking the ball under pressure, and now we don't know which Dembele is going to turn up. On the flip side, our pressing has been bad for a while now. I don't want to put too much blame on the players because I don't think the way we've been set up this year so far has been good. Poch's obsession with playing two up front is confusing. I wish we'd go back to 4231 or 3421.

Poch has turned into a bit of a prick this season, hasn’t he?

Panders to Mourinho and publicly slams the team despite beating Man Utd 3-0 at Old Trafford and predicts that the team will slip up against Watford.

We then lose 2-1 to Watford after dropping a lead. Poch says he’s glad we’d lost because it was a wake up call.

Then yesterday, when asked about Son, he says that people need to stop congratulating Son for winning the gold medal and congratulate him for being brave enough to release him to play in the tournament.

Something just seems incredibly off this season.

Whenever the team played like they dont care, I always think there is something going on behind.

On another note, can't stand Sherwood punditry.

We just can’t play Winks, Dembele and Dier together. Absolutely nothing came from that trio. It was a black hole when we had the ball. They barely managed to make a forward pass all game. Then Eriksen comes deep because that’s the only way we can get the ball moving in the right direction, but that leaves Kane and Lucas alone up top. Shit did not work and i have no idea why we waited until 0-2 before we made a sub. We got to have some sense of which way the game is going.

You make that change in the half when we are only behind by 1 and then you go out and give it a go in the second half. Poch in game management is abysmal.
