Plus Dier offering little in midfield and Wanyama and Winks' injuries, I cannot believe that we did not strengthen in midfield. I refuse to believe there weren't players we could have got. Maddison, Seri to name just two.
Chelsea got our number 1 fucking target I have no doubt in my mind. Chasing Ndombele was foolish as Lyon were never going to sell. There are a lot of links to De Jong but even if those are true that ain't happening till next summer and we'll likely have to compete with Barca... Gonna be a long season watching this group in the middle of the field.

Did fans honestly think before we kicked a ball this season we were contending for the title?

The MO hasn't changed with ownership, we compete for the top four, contending is a different ball park.

Also, we have not looked fluid for a while now. Kane and Eriksen, and Son now and then, have papered over the cracks, but our general play has been dire for longer the a few games.

Pochettino has lost the plot. I’ve never seen him like that before. Mourinho-esque. He does not have the history behind him like Mourinho does to start doing this arrogant bullshit

Personally I think it is more fatigue than new signings. That's not to say I don't agree that a couple of signings would help, but you've got some great players out there who are looking like tired Championship players right now. You can get away with a couple of knackered players, but too many tired and you've got half a team.

Youre not wrong, however we are not in a position to rotate some of those players. We have no-one of that standard.

from the bbc taken from his sky interview

Mauricio Pochettino speaking to Sky Sports: "Liverpool were better. We competed, we were close, and the action at the end of the game was crazy and the challenge on Son at the end should have been a penalty. Then the result would have been different.
"Of course I am disappointed with the result but we must keep working and improving. Today was a competitive game you can win or you can lose. There are lots of games ahead.
"There are lots of things to assess and analyse - it's early in the season and this is a moment to be cool and calm. Is this a tough time? Listen, don't worry about me!"
