Normally id be really pissed off at not getting the pen....but I feel drawing might've masked what was a really shite performance.
It wasn't even that shit of a performance we dominated the vast majority of the first half. The wheels did completely fall off in the second half however.

I'll remind you of that come the end of the season when we just needed a point for cl qualification ?.

Disappointed with the result and the performance, we never really competed with Liverpool, something's got to change, Poch's tactics today were all over the place, not knowing whether to play with 2 or 3 at the back. Kane hardly touched the ball he is clearly off form and needs a rest, although we don't really have a good replacement. Another tough game Tuesday at Inter, in which we need a result. Overall I feel that not making any signings during the summer has left us lacking and behind the other main contenders. Things need to be freshened up. One positive is that it is still early season so changes can be made with tactics and personnel.

Exactly.

THIS is why we lost today.

It's is our primary flaw and Poch must weed it out.
TT Mental errors can be erased but against a pressing team like Pool it cannot be weeded out with so few footballers in our team. Whatever deficiencies Lamela has as a player he is a footballer. Look at what he did when he came on because he is capable of receiving and playing the ball (especially in tight places).

So many of our players are technically deficient and i have been saying this for some time now. It doesn't show against most teams because Poch has given us organization, identity and work ethic. And supporters tend to overrate many of the player because of this. But to push on we need footballers. Not 'world classtm' but just competent footballers in many positions.

Look at that 'wasted' ball from Moura that was intended for Trips. Regardless of WC exploits and free kicks Trips ain't a footballer and didn't recognize that that ball was on...not good enough. And traipsing out to the line and leaving the grand canyon open for Robertson to float a ball in behind is schoolboy.

Maybe not qualifying will get rid of some of the plastics.
A few have already said how they've lost interest this season after just 5 games.
Our fan base has gone a bit shitty over the last few years.

i didnt see the game because i knew we were going to lose. No shame in losing to a better club with bigger ambitions than us.

If you truly believe that why do you support us? They are absolutely not a better club than us. Tottenham Hotspur are special to our fans (as they are to their fans). As a Spurs fan I do not find them in the least special. Liverpool are a richer club not a better club. They have improved this season by spending huge amounts of money. Spurs are hugely ambitious, as has been proved by the new stadium and training ground.

Go for it. Keep claiming that not strengthening our weakest position hasn’t adversely affected Poch and the squad. Keep denying it, and by the same token maintain your position that anyone concerned by this is deluded and obsessive. It’s not as if multiple itk that have decent reputations on this site haven’t stated that Poch was privately unhappy, or that he didn’t refuse mediocre players on deadline day when it became clear Levy hadn’t secured his targets. And even if you disregard all that, there is so much at the moment that suggests issues at the club, from lacklustre performances to contract extension inactivity, to stadium delays. But that’s fine, keep trying to separate these factors, keep telling those of us whose concerns are, sadly, looking a little more rooted in reality than we actually feel comfortable with that we’re irrational and wrong and entitled. Doesn’t change the fact that Poch, our best manager in decades, doesn’t quite seem him self.
You might not notice that we could be right. But your brain does
I haven't claimed anything. I just moved on, my only mistake was telling you to let it go.

You keep carrying it with you, I'll moan about the football being played in front of me.

The two are linked but there is literally thing fucking one I can do about what happened.

As far as what has been said by those in the know, accepted but doesn't mean I let it affect/effect me 1, 2, 3 months down the line.

Football is played on a pitch, drama is meant for the written and spoken word ... I know which I prefer.

Is Poch the man to take us onwards and upwards, you've got to ask the question. To me there is a lot of politics going on out of his control. His tone and aggression with his words tells me the man is under pressure, I can't see him doing another season under Levi.

nah sorry but we really didn’t. Their attacking players looked more threatening than ours in the first 25 mins. Then we admittedly did have a period where we were looking like getting into the game without creating a lot. Ironically this is when we decided to see which player could make the biggest cock up leading to their first goal.

There was no domination out there. Just a 10 min period where we did ok.

So you are just completely happy watching Spurs on tv completely regardless of how they play on the field and won't say anything negative on them on a message board that gives fans the ability to voice their opinion?

Like it or not but Spurs need fans from "another country" like myself. Pretty damn ignorant.
You personally will have a dour view of a stadium that you haven't had the joys of visiting? (that is what I meant by my last comment, not sure what you're on about)

How could you possibly tell what it is like other than believing what others write about it? (unless youtube and videos on twitter count ...)

I think we need much braver. Its been echoed over & again that we need players who willing to give there very best at for every minute of play. Should that require bringing Amos, or playing Lamela, then thats what we need.

The formation is screwed as well, with us playing without much width or pace. Moura should have been part of a front-three with Lamela being used on the left. The full-backs tucking in a little more into midfield because clearly they are not quicker than Robertson & Alexander-Arnold. Eriksen more advanced with Winks in a no.8 role, whilst Dier holds it. I don't understand why the gaffer doesn't see it & look to play that way. We've been crying out for pace & width, yet week after week we see none. Its not a secret that those factors hugely influence games & Liverpool sussed it with Salah & Mane.

Man City don't play overly complicated football; they keep the pitch wide with fast-players who can play as part of a possession game, or beat a man 1v1 & for some reason we don't choose to play that way.

The manager has to see that surely now that he's got beat playing the way he has.

I absolutely agree, on the whole.

But until next summer - and let's face it, there's no garauntee Levy will open his pockets sufficiently - we've just got to do our best to finesse our approach to games/selections and manage the squad in a way that reduces our error potential.
