Poor display but could have been so much better. As always we started as though just woken up from a short nap.

However, we settled into the game and were showing some control of midfield in a hard fought game. We moved the ball quickly and there was plenty of movement from the players too. We did create more problems than Liverpool themselves through a litany of crazy errors and in the end a dreadful attempt at a back pass header led to the corner and goal.

The second goal was similar when we turned possession over to them and conceded what looked from where I sat as another comedy of errors.

Not sure what a coach can do when players make such school kid mistakes as we do and yet for most of the game are at least solid.

Liverpool were far from world beaters and the game was swung completely on our mistakes. At two nil up the opposition could then play on the counter and looked far more dangerous than at any time before.

Once again we shot ourselves in the foot. So frustrating as this was a very winnable game

It won't.
Mate I agree until we lose owners who only are interested in showing healthy bank balance to Deloitte each year rather than actually winning something this will be the case.
Looking at poch interview he looks like a man who wanted to be where Liverpool are but now finds himself stitched up by his boss and worse having to toe the company line about it.
I think this maybe the last season we get out of him and to be fair I can't blame him if he leaves next summer and goes to a club that backs him then we can see what he can really do.

What happened to pochs pre match speech of an aggressive start I take it the players decided it didn't apply to them.

Said it before, will say it again.

It seems simple - no rest in what has been a hectic summer. No rest - no preseason. A tired squad, a tired performance. The one person who had some time to rest and prepare and that’s Maura. It shows in terms of how sharp he is. We are a tired team.

Other teams don't seem to be offering up excuses like we are maybe we just need to apply ourselves better and the manager to make the right decisions for a change.

Unfortunately when we come up against teams with pace both Dembele & Dier are well off it. At least Lamela added a bit of spark.

7 out of our 11 starters were in World Cup semi final squads. Mentally, physically and emotionally a rollercoaster. Not exactly a baseless excuse. Vorm, Eriksen, Maura and Winks were the others in the team.

Poch and Levy are not going to waste millions on a player unless he can clearly improve the squad. Very few teams have genuinely improved their squad this summer.

Levy will only start to sweat when we finish outside of the cl.

I'm certain they will sell up in the next couple of seasons.

I'm dreading Man City.

To be honest, I’m not. The way it’s going, I don’t think we are any where near winning the title this season and if we’re not winning it then I’d rather City win it over the other TOP six sides.

And I want City to thump the Scousers in both legs when they meet them later this season.

Given our shallow squad and lack of a break I can’t see us doing anything this season. Added to that all the uncertainty off the pitch then this could be a nightmare season.

This made me laugh but then I realised you were serious I would say Mr klopps team have improved they could and should have won with a greater margin.
The team is crying out for new blood and this decision not to invest was a piss poor one that I hope bites levy on the arse, early exit from CL and no top four finish this year might make him think.

Yep if we don’t find out what is wrong with him he’ll be lucky to score 15 this season. He looks ordinary.
Simple - he's knackered. He rushed back from injury too quickly last season in pursuit of the Golden Boot, then he went to Russia and played in all but one of England's games and he's now played every league game and in both England's internationals last week. He's played 13 months straight. With his intensity that's now blunted his edge. He needs to be put on an extended break so he can recover properly and rediscover his edge. Hunger alone isn't enough.
