Players looked scared yesterday, defensive line was all over the place. We just don’t do the simple things well and it costs us time and time again; City keep Sane as wide as possible and he’s normally the outlet for the team, but it seems no one from Spurs was aware of this. Sane constantly ran at the defence because we let City have too much time on the ball and pick a pass at their leisure; simple one touch passing (which our players seem incapable of doing) made us look like a poor team and there seemed to be no real game plan.

Thought we handled Sane pretty well, hence he got pulled off after an hour.
Silva and Sterling however...

I know it's City, but I still think it's approaches like these that will be our downfall in certain 'big' games and the Champions League essentially. That inability to keep it tight and close spaces sometimes. Ultimately it's what got us knocked out of the Champions League this season with Dybala's goal. That may be a bit harsh as we were fairly solid for most of that game but I think but the space was there to be exploited and unfortunately it was.

As annoying as the comments were (and I can't remember who it was exactly) but before the Juve game one of them did say we were a good team but we will allow the other team chances and I think it's this aspect of the way we play that we'll need to eventually eliminate. Maybe not as a whole as in completely sacrificing the way we currently play but to at least have the ability to switch it up to play a more compact game.

I've said it before but I thought the Madrid away performance was the birth of being able to play like that but we haven't really set out in similar fashion since that game I don't think.

Don’t think we got dominated anywhere near as much as people are making out we had 48% of the ball. Liverpool had 37% of ball over 2 legs against city and united had 38% last week. We just gave away 3 sloppy goals and weren’t incisive enough with the ball. Even in the away game we had 47%. At a guess I’d say we’ve had more of the ball against city over 2 PL games than any other team.
Let's get one thing straight about those CL matches: Liverpool got some very favourable decisions that turned out to be crucial to the outcome.

If there's one tiny thing that annoys me about Kane it's that his off the ball work can be very inconsistent. I don't know if he's not going full pelt for a particular reason, whether he's trying to avoid injury or he's under the manager's instructions. Yesterday he was particularly poor and it allowed City to play through us really easily.
It actually looked like 10 vs 11. Kane was completely counter productive and had it not been for a flukey rebound he wouldn't even have had his 0.5 assist. It's clear he is having a bad spell, his positioning is off. If aguero can be dropped to better the team, so can kane.

Been a great season but in the two games against City it was embarrassing....could have been a cricket score in both. Also Davies carried on from Kane and Alli in trying to break a Man City player's leg.

Wasn't expecting a lot but City were made to look superhuman by us twice this season.
No, he did not. It is very clear that he pulled back his foot when he realised that the ball had gone. There has been a lot of rubbish spoken about his and Lloris' tackles.

It was the birth, but a child needs to fall a few times before it learns to walk.

And we have cornered the market in making City look "superhuman" this season i guess?

You obviously need to look at more football games, because they have humiliated the best this season. There's a reason that they are sixteen points ahead of second placed Yanited, and have a GD difference of twenty five goals more than the second highest scorers Liverpool.

They have been "superhuman" but against many more sides than Spurs, so sup it up and take the defeat like so many others habve had to this season. Demeaning this young side we have shows no class.

When your manager spends three quarters of a BILLION pounds on players you should have an edge, though i may be alone in thinking that.

Fourth of February, the last time before yesterday that we have played one. So one in two, or fifty percent.

Your point being?
That kane is actually hindering the flow of play. He isn't fit and shouldn't start. The way we played Chelsea off the park should give poch much needed food for thought.

So you seriously think that Poch would start an unfit player, let alone our only serious goalscorer against a side we were unlikely to be able to match?

What coaching manual are you reading?

Chelsea have been played off the park for most of the season, and were two goals down yesterday, playing them off the park isn't a major achievement this season.

So you are seriously happy with kane in his last 4-5 games? If so nothing will convince you otherwise.

The point is this season he has scored one goal against arsenal, 3 goals against liverpool, none against united or city or chelsea...

What exactly IS your point? That Kane should be dropped? For Son I assume? Or Llorente maybe? They haven't scored against those teams either bar one goal for Son so what point is it you're fumbling about trying to make?

I would refer you to @tiger666 post, for two reasons:

He is the voice of reason and common sense

To save yourself from more embarrassment

Give it up Gaz, one defeat to City brings the absolute dipsticks out.
You're literally wasting your time even trying to debate with them.
