Am I the only one who thinks Sanchez is poor, he's just too lightweight in a tackle. Needs to muscle up
A bit too apprehensive when the ball is in the air and he's the last man; a bit jittery.

Needs to gain that solid core. It will come.

How do you know this ?

Lol. You want on source on that? It's a qualified guess. Football isn't a democracy and the best players in a club obviously have a bigger say than fringe players. If Ronaldo or Messi say they are fit and want to play they will. Same with Kane.

This is just my humble opinion of course. Let's agree to disagree mate.

Did not impose ourselves physically aside from that period after half time to the third goal. In that 10-15 minutes we were looking ok, but still suspect in behind. Then the third goal goes in and it's done.

City were a danger every time they countered and we cannot afford to give so much space either in behind or in the middle of the park on Saturday.

Regardless of the performance, we were still in the game, but just like at the Etihad, we gave them a soft goal from a corner. You just can’t do that if you want to beat a team this talented.

Shit result today but I can live with it as i believe we will be in a cup final this time next week so all is still rosey.

He can be really good but he's not reliable, possibly due to his age but it may come. I thought he was better in a back 3 (pity about Alderwereld).

City fans were a bit of an embarrassment. They don't even sing when they're winning! They need a two goal cushion before you hear a peep out of them. After that you'd think they're the best fans in the world. Jokers.

Sanchez hasn't had the best of games today but we all know that he's young and has proven to be quality (in other games) and does seem to possess a high ceiling.

As this game wasn't very vital for us to get a win, it was a good experience for the young defender when facing top quality attackers that City have, and it would have taught him a few valuable lessons for future encounters against quality opposition.

The title has long been lost and our main target (other than the FA Cup) is to qualify for next season's CL when we move to the new stadium. That is now very much in our hands as we have much easier PL games left for the season.

To beat Liverpool for the 3rd place spot (2nd is United's to lose), we need to win all our remaining PL games and win big to overcome Pool's current superior GD (unfortunately they are also scoring buckets). Our other hope is for the dippers to drop a few points between now and season end. Even if we end up 4th, its still a fantastic achievement which many thought we couldn't get (even some of our own fans) because of playing our home games in a neutral ground.

Nothing to begrudge today's result. We played well but we lost to a better team.

We needed to be at our best to beat the best team in the league.

We wasn’t.

Anyone can lose to City.

Let’s move on and finish the season strong.

Im glad we have 7 points on Chelsea.

As far as today, I think it shows we need a new CM this summer. Im not knocking who we have now, but Dier is too slow for some opponents, Dembele is getting older and can go missing and Wanyama just hasnt had enough games back from injury. Winks might made of difference but maybe not.

Pot kettle black that, and wrong. Wembley was silent, apart from the city fans. I shouldn't be able to hear the away fans that clearly from 100 yards away.

I predicted a much better performance than we showed last time.

If anything surely Poch would have learned that if you're going to go for it against City you have to be 110% committed to the cause. Everyone has to press. Either that or we set up to play on the counter which is how I would have played it considering our fixtures this week.

It was much the same of this timidness that depressed me. Half arsed pressing, but not closing gaps and restricting the space either. The first 40/45 was abysmal.

I’ll be honest I expected absolutely nothing different.

Poch has specifically mentioned numerous times that we don’t adapt our game for individual opponents. We play our game and that’s it.

Against the best teams we have to accept that this won’t change. We’ll still beat the majority of our opponents but it’s a thing we need to expect/predict.

One of the reasons I’m very concerned about the semi-final.

I’m sorry but I thought that was pathetic. The first 20 minutes we were scared shitless.

They are an awesome team but if you let them play that’s what they’ll do. When we tried to impose ourselves they didn’t like it. Should have done that from the start.

They were simply too good for us. Man for man they were better. The only person in our team I would not think of retaining over a longer term is Lamela. He missed so many opportunities in the final third.

I posted the following in March. People generally disagreed at the time. Still stand by every word.

Lamela is a strange one. He has the skill of a freestyle artist but is technically limited. He simply cannot use his right foot, his first touch is poor and he does not have tactical awareness to compensate for these limitations (like a Ryan Giggs). He frustratingly almost inevitably loses the ball in key attacking areas.

He is strangely almost more beneficial defensively - full of aggressive running and tackling, covering significant ground off the ball and provides fairly decent circulation in deep positions - which is why Poch puts him on when he wants to increase intensity. Useful in particular games where we already have creative outlets. Frustrating in games where we are looking for additional creativity and ball retention.

Lucas Moura is a significant upgrade. Wonderful attacking creative touch and movement, good finishing ability and running. Really looking forward to see him completely settled in and playing regularly. Dan Levy got us a great deal there.

Christian Eriksen was fuming when he missed an easy cut back at the end of the first half. In another attack Harry Kane was unmarked but he couldn’t play him in with his right foot. The through ball to Kane which led to the Ben Davies stamp was his poor touch.

Against a top team like city you have to do better.
