Thought we lost the game in the first 35 minutes today where we were as poor as I've seen us all season. Our defence was all over the place, we gave them far to much time and space on the ball and we just lacked any kind of energy, desire or belief.

Once we got going after the first 35 minutes though we looked a totally different side. The 2nd half in particular we showed the energy, desire and belief that was so missing in the first 35 minutes of the match.

Sadly though it was too late as the damage had already been done and once again a slow start cost us. If we are to progress further as a team, then Poch needs to find a way to get us going from the first whistle, because I really think that these slow starts are our Achilles heel.

Just got home from the match. Our passing in the first 20 mins was shocking, and we gave them so much time on the ball. No pressing at all. Even Moussa's control let him down a lot. When we got going, we had them rattled for a bit, but we dithered around with the ball on the edge of their box so many times and didn't really create any real chances. Penalty looked outside the box. The referee had a shocker and let them get away with terrible timewasting especially after each goal, all their players stayed in our half and then just strolled back making us wait for what seemed like 2 or 3 mins to take the kick-off. Harry was completely out of sorts and Dele wasted the ball a number of times when he looked like he didn't want to shoot. Dier back to dire tonight. Lucas looked good when he came on. Sanchez did well apart from the first goal. SuperJan deserves a special mention absolute masterclass in defending!

1st 30 mins we were dreadful.

Shakey at the back and didn't look like scoring with a wheelbarrow full of cash in a whore house.

We then woke up and the crowd got a bit of a buzz going and we looked dangerous.
Should have gone in at 2-2 if Lamela had pulled it back to Eriksen.

Second half we started well and I was confident on getting a point at least until we took Lamela off (who wasn't having his best game) and it killed our momentum.

Verts was so good tonight aswell as Lucas.

The rest were average or below

The last few posts are bang on, we started half asleep. Pre game everyone with half a brain knew we had to fly out of the blocks and press them. What do we do, the exact fucking opposite.

From then on there was only going to be one winner

Lose our first game in the league this year in the middle of April and we “bottled it again”!

It is quite amazing we haven’t lost for so long.

I was just disappointed that we didn’t give a good account of ourselves and play at the level we all know we are capable of.

They did have lots of chances initially but I felt the game was a bit like theirs against Liverpool midweek. Lots of intense pressure but I just felt they weren’t going to score because they kept choosing the wrong option. They then got lucky with their first and even luckier with their second.

Even at 2 nil I still felt we were in the game and that proved to be right as we got the goal. If they hadn’t got that penalty I think the game would have been different as we we finally getting on the ball in and around that time.

Also, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team take so long to get out of our half after scoring and get ready for the kick off. Sterling must have taken about 2 minutes to get back into his own half.
(Edit: @Dannyspur im glad you mentioned this as well. It’s terrible sportsmanship. I’ve even seen teams like wba and stoke get back into their own half quicker after scoring).

I thought Poch got the selection all wrong. Then we started slowly. Then we made one unforced error after another.

They are a class act though, with every player seeming to possess two good feet, a willingness to work incredibly hard, and then do everything incredibly fast. Easily the best team we've faced this season at Wembley.

First 35 minutes shocking. After that we played pretty well.

Hard for me to say if we played pretty well at all or if they saw 0-2 as job done and after their legs would start to feel the effects of the tough game they had mid week. I think after the first 10 minutes of the game I would like to have seen us compact the spaces much more then wait for the 2nd half before pushing on as much as we tried which resulted in consistently giving the ball away.

We weren't great but City showed why they could be the first centurions in the league, some of their football was a class above anything else we've come up against this season. Onwards and upwards.

I thought they would be tired after the week they have had but you would have thought it was us who had a tough week by how the game went.

We just weren't up to it on the day. I thought dropping son was stupid.

Well, it’s fine margins. When you’re the 6th richest club in the league and regular top 4 finisher, there are only so many clubs you’re not expected to beat before a ball is kicked.

Losing at home to anyone is not a good look. To be so comprehensively outplayed by a team who have been undone by the team’s around us last two games and who are on a bad run instantly ups the stakes and defines the narrative, regardless of them clearly the title winners. The media has spent the whole week repainting them as good but not that good, with Utd and Liverpool fans plenty happy to join in.

“Bottling” is just like Spursy, a term that other fans know winds Spurs fans up so they persist. Same with “but you’ve won nothing” and Harry Klaim. Just ignore them or embrace it and see the funny side. “Yes we bottled the 15-game unbeaten record, gutted.” Etc.

Thought Moura looked the part though, despite everything else.

Will push for a starter next year for sure.
