Just got home from the game - god we were awful first half. Second half we improved a bit but I felt they could have nicked a goal right up until the end. The crowd kept trying to lift the team in the face of some headbangingly frustrating sh1te. I think the vocal barcodes supporters brought the best out of our fans.
Maybe we will give Leicester a spanking on Sunday and Harry will get his golden boot - but continue to play like we have in the games since Chelsea and the final game could end up losing the game.

Really?
We weren’t at our best and quite nervous. But I’m not sure abysmal is a fair description.
It is a fair description of our first half performance. Even right near the end, Kane's decision to try a lateral pass across their defence, thus gifting them a counterattack, was gormless. We were very nervous, our play disjointed and our players not all fit.
But who cares, we're in CL next season, which is a magnificent achievement.

First half was utterly abysmal, honestly up there with the worst we have served up under Poch for me. We made Shelvey look like Iniesta and their front 3 look like world beaters.

Second half was better and once the Chelsea result came through the shackles were off a little!

Anyway, doesn’t really matter as it was all about the result tonight and we did it. To finish top 4 this season is exceptional, sure we’ve limped home since Chelsea away but we’ve done it - Champions League football back at White Hart Lane. COYS!

Also, did Toby get a really great reception tonight or was it more the Chelsea news filtering through? Hope the former.

Fantastic achievement to get CL football once again after a season without a home. As someone said, if we finish 3rd it's the best run of consecutive league finishes since Bill Nic. Not bad for a manager described in this very thread as 'clueless' and a 'clown'.

btw, who was doing the commentary - what we call the "color" guy in the states? he was depressingly negative. he complained over and over again that Wanyama and Sissoko were holding the ball too long (quite rightly) and then repeatedly criticized Dele for passing too quickly. Everything was a criticism.

Yep so much rubbish spoken on SC about both Pochettino and the team. With 38 away games I wasn’t expecting us to get CL next season but remarkably we have. Brilliant team effort from everyone at the club.

Can I just remark at how good Lamela was when he came on. Gave us the tenacity and cutting edge on the ball we'd been missing. Also Toby immediately improved us. I say fuck it and pay these lot what they want.

I want to acknowledge the massive shove Huddersfield gave us to get us over the line. They took an absolute battering from Chelsea but held out and their keeper made an unbelievable save near the end as well. I really wouldn't have fancied us to take 3 points from Leicester on current form and under that pressure at the weekend.

We didn’t need Huddersfield. We did it ourselves. Proud of the lads. They dug deep and got us over the line.

Sometimes you've got to win ugly and get the job done, last night we did that. I genuinely don't care that we didn't play well, we've just moved into 3rd and guaranteed CL football for our new stadium, congratulations Poch and the boys

Yeah he looked alright against our midfield who didn't bother to press or be remotely interested the majority of the game.
I'm sure similar was said after Sissoko tore us up for 90 minutes when we put in a similar performance away at Newcastle. We don't need more average shite like that, least Sissoko has a good attitude and work ethic

What's even more ridiculous is shelvey has 2 goals and 2 assists in all comps

Sissoko, 2 goals 5 assists with less games played and much less starts.

No more Newcastle United mystery box garbage
True that his stats aren’t great. But they ought to be taken in context.

He creates numerous chances and has a hand in their build up play with quick and accurate passing and is often doing this to Dwight Gayle and Perez who convert less than half the chances Kane, Son and Alli do - so not surprising really?

Again not saying at all we would be interested in him due to attitude and likely price tag, but I thought he was excellent and should go to the World Cup as an option to unlock defences.

But if Chelsea had won it would be down to the last match.

So Huddersfield did do us a favour.

I think we would be good enough to get a point in the last game. Liverpool must have been shitting bricks on the Chelsea result.
