Increases the chances of Lamela being shipped out IMO.
Just read the stats of Son as a comparison to Lamela. He came second to Lamela on everything except on goals scored. Lamela scored very much higher in successful passes and assist. I think he should displace Lamela on the left wing, but now I'm having doubt on selling off Lamela. We saw Lamela excelled when he played central last season. He did a few goal assist and made room for Kane. And who's the best corner kick taker in the squad? (Eriksson for sure is not!). I say don't sell Lamela and stick him in the middle alongside Eriksson.

It is already rolling of the tongue...

'He's Son of our own, he's Son of our own, Heung Min Son he's Son of our own'

Hell of a left foot on him and and scores the odd few goals with his right as well. Skillful with pace. Just wondering who will likely make way for him? Cannot see Levy weighing out heavily for a squad player if the transfer goes through at the proposed fee?

Excellent player. Good in both feet. Fast and good close control. Definitely a player we need. Able to play in the 4 forward positions but preferably the no 10 or 9. However at Bayer, he did played on the wings. The way Bayer play, he should be able to blend in well into Pochettino style of play. Look at the quotes below ... good attitude!

I'm sorry mate but Lamela has not excelled in any game for Spurs, at best he has done OK!

Was there a stat for losing possession? That's a serious question by the way. I don't like stats at all and think they can often give a totally false impression of what is actually happening on the pitch.

Erm, no, the reported price is 30 mill Euros, approx 22 mill pounds and he's worth every penny, you pay peanuts you get monkeys.
I had never heard of him until yesterday, but willing to be convinced. My worry is we never seem to spend big money well and Levy must be getting cold feet by now.

Yes in general you're right but we've not had many players from Germany in the past. Players from there usually do ok in England.

I'm in totally agreement with you on Lamela it would be a travesty that we've added pace to our attacks then sell Lamela who would imo come alive with runners. The player to sell is Dembele.

Didn't we try to sign him a while back before he went to Lever? Seem to remember us being linked with him before.

And I saw stats that suggested Lamela was better than Willian last season. Stats are fine but I prefer to use my eyes. Based on what I've seen Lamela is nowhere near penetrating or clever enough to cut it in the PL. And he really just wasn't as useful as Willian. Who would you rather come on as sub for your team?

I have no idea if Son can cut it here but as others have noted, there seems to be a higher success rate of players moving from Bundesliga to the PL than from Serie A.

As an Aussie have seen a fair bit of him. Asian player of the year says it all. Has a touch of class and most importantly pace and an engine, a definite improvement in an area where it would be reassuring to have more options for Poch. COYS.

I am sorry but where are these very few Lamela fan's getting the fact that he excelled as a number 10 or that he was our best player in the last 6 games of last season....Apart from Kane and Rose, I don't know any player that excelled during a period of the season above what was expected of them at the start.

Lamela does not suit the speed of the English game...end off. Di Maria struggled to adjust and he is by far a better player than Lamela is... so just deal with it and move on!

It's like people cannot accept that Spurs might have fudged 30m on a player....add to that 26m Soldado, 18m Paulinho, 17m on Bentley, 16.5m on Bent, 11m on Rebrov....we have been doing it for years and I believe they were all at one stage our record signings!

As Harry would say
'On me 'ed Son'.

Looks good on you-tube, but then who doesn't.
Warning. On scouting report it says
he doesn't do defensive duties.
One area where Lamela scores.
Clever, quick and calm in front of goal.
If he signs and settles could be an asset.
