If we get nfl playing at whl we will get a huge naming rights deal that would easily cover the costs. Hell we might even hold the superbowl one day.
Superbowl at Spurs? Absolutely disgusting thought, if I werent a bitch I would blow my face off right now

A London Super Bowl is a long, long, long way off but it would be amazing. We'd probably get the Pro Bowl first as a test event.

American sports are the worst. I hate how they insist upon rules that create parity in their leagues. Why can't they be more like us and create a league where the team with the richest billionaire tends to win?

I'm not an NFL fan, I've caught the Baseball bug lately though but I honestly don't understand the strong dislike for NFL in the new stadium, it really isn't going to affect the football guys.

It will effect the football. It will mean bigger sponsership deals, more money coming in, but better players, have a better football team

I'm not a fan either but that's not the reason. I have no problem with the NFL playing in the UK I just don't want us to host any of it. I want our new stadium to be ours and no one else's.

I haven't seen this on here found it on COYS

From Gabriel:

"Wonderful Wednesday is almost upon us.
NFL press release first. A few hours later THFC will open a microsite showcasing the stadium design.
Hope the COYS Boys (and girls, of course) have enjoyed coming along for the ride with us on this little adventure. :)
Over and out. Gabe."

I agree

I don't trust the NFL and want nothing to do with them. We think this is going to workout but the NFL does one thing well....it leverages. And right now, we just became the means to Mexico City getting the NFL team that has long been sought there.

Look at it this way - it's going to be our house, we're going to own it and live in it. We're just renting out our spare room to a rich American so we can afford to fill up our crib with lots of sweet-ass new toys.

The NFL are looking at hosting regular season games in Mexico but the team sent to examine stadiums in Mexico City has concluded a lot of work still needs to be done.

From the NFL owner's meeting:

Asked if the NFL remains on track to reach its goal of having a team full-time in London by 2022, Waller responded, "Absolutely." Had it not been for the Rugby World Cup, the league would've gone to four games in London this year, so it's a good bet that happens in 2016. Also, the NFL has a base of 40,000 fans who bought tickets for all three games for this year. The vast majority of those 40,000 are local to London, and bought tickets for all three games last year, which, in the league's eyes, represents the formation of a potential season-ticket base.

And of course, the International Series has moved to a phase that will test how a full-time franchise there would work, with the introduction of back-to-back games and a division game this year, and the possible addition of a December game and removal of the automatic byes afforded to traveling teams soon.

Aside from LA I can't see any city other than London getting the next franchise. Mexico City might be closer but London is a much more lucrative market as it'll draw in the sizeable British, Dutch and German fanbases.

That way of looking at it depresses me just as much.

This is our house. No room at the inn I'm afraid. Unless you're a yid

I want to live in a world where we can wipe the smug grin off of Chelsea and Arsenal fans faces. This could help bridge the quantum gap there is in finances, in a much shorter time-frame than is otherwise possible. I doubt when AC Milan were winning titles and European Cups, they were moaning about having to share our ground with our neighbours.

At least that was with another football team.

I want to live in a world where we have a brand new state of the art stadium (like our training ground)that we dont have to share, I don't think thats to much to ask seeing as 99% of football sides have their own stadium.

I dunno, I know it's just my own thing and it's not like I'm going to boycott spurs or nothing, it just really saddens me that's all.

Though I see your main point, I think it would be much worse to share the ground with another football team. I'd much rather have a team I have no connection to play a sport I don't care about at WHL, than share it with a rival. I'll rather have NFL play there than the England national team - I remember Sol Campbell and the likes getting cheered at WHL for a friendly some years ago. Much, much worse.

Are you also opposed to concerts and other events behing held at new WHL?

Or like how they literally form the game around commercials? "Hey let's stop the game completely so people sitting on there couch can stare at commercials for a bit" NFL, NBA, NHL, mlb, ncaa...all have TV timeouts, what the fuck is a TV timeout? Who ever approved that idea, stopping a game for TV, thus throwing the entire natural direction of the game another way. Only in america does it take 3 hours to watch a 60 minute game (nfl), and of this 60 minutes, the ball is in play 11-17 minutes, otherwise your watching cheerleaders, replays, commercials, sideline reporters, replays, commercials, broadcasters booth, commercials, and replays..garbage, pure and utter garbage

How is it that lucrative? Gambling on long term support in a country that has a significantly bigger sport? And that draw......German support of the old Rhein Fire was mostly from ex-pats at the military bases in the area.

Putting two teams in Los Angeles would be lucrative. Putting one in Oklahoma City or Omaha would be lucrative. Putting one in San Antonio would be a better alternative to Mexico City (which would be fucking ridiculously lucrative) as there are more fans in Mexico City than in 23 of the NFL's current markets.

Putting one in London is gambling. And the NFL rarely gambles on anything.

But believe what you want.
