I don't agree MP, he's not a ditherer or a dribbler for the sake of it, I think he was a 21yo learning, I think his decision making - when to hold onto the ball, and his passing decisions, risks etc, noticeably improved as the season went on.

As I said I do think he is very talented. Only seen him play a handful of times, and do accept he's young and still developing, but he's always struck me as a player whose first instinct is to go himself, dribble, and try to drive forward himself, then look for the pass later.

A lot of it is just my personal preference as to what I want out of a central midfield player, but I do think we could do with another player who plays at one/two touch and plays with his head up - gets ball and gives it again.

Another tough tackling midfielder that doesn't create or score much.

Are creativity is all in the final third what I want is a midfielder who can move the ball quickly, one and two touch stuff. As good as Dembele is/was he wasn't that goodness at that.

Absolutely, I think our need for a proper 8 is a priority, but I really do like this kid, I think he'd suit the premiership, and if we could find a good "8" NDombele could be more of a footballing 6. I just think this kid has a bit of everything, strong, robust, athletic, good technique, tenacious, can dribble a bit, is not easily knocked off the ball, but can also see a pass - and an incisive one sometimes.

Thinking about it, if it's say as a replacement for Sissoko and the role of multi-functional tool who can play different midfield positions, maybe a bit higher or from deeper, cm2 or cm3, then I'd be all for it.

However if it's to replace Dembele, then I'd definitely want a passer/metronome. That one/two touch player who just keeps things ticking efficiently with the minimum of fuss.

I don't think Poch sees things my way though.........

Well he has had real injury problems, and is still a pretty inexperienced player trying to make his way in the game and establish himself. But even if that wasn't the case, I still want us to go for that type of player, as well as Winks.

So kind of like Dembele? I do remember Poch saying at one point that he wishes that he had started working with Dembele at a younger age because he could have helped him round out his game and become a truly world class midfielder.

"One was Maradona, then Ronaldinho, Okocha and De La Pena. He is a genius too, Moussa Dembele. We always told him, 'If we had taken you at eighteen or nineteen years old, you would have become one of the best players in the world.' I would have loved to have taken him on at 18."

So maybe Poch sees N'Dombele as a player with great raw talent that he can develop into a great player. Hard for me to say as I've never seen him play, just going off what other people are saying.

With the club involved in CL and other competitions it's imperative that we have good quality across all positions, winks is a great prospect who has been sidelined two seasons running with injuries, providing we get him back to how he was then we will be blessed with an excellent squad this time and maybe a real shot at something.
