Tottenham are pricing Mousa Dembele out of a move to Italy. Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan and Inter Milan have shown an interest in Dembele but Spurs want around £30million for the midfielder.

Rivals don't just come in the 'domestic' variety. If we were to come up against Dembele in the CL we need to be sure that it didn't happen on the cheap. He's a quality player, so pay up or do one.

He has been a great loyal player for us over 6 years, but he is now 30 years old and injury prone. He will be missed but 15-20 million would be a fair price to let him leave,
as a sign of respect and a thank you for all his performances as a Spurs player.

The Italians have kept their spending quite reasonable over the last 18 years (their second highest transfer ever is €56m 18 years ago) but they have to realize that if they want to bring in top players from overseas they are going to have to pay the going rate.

To be fair he's been injured half that time and really only started to be fantastic in the last couple of seasons. Before that he was not playing at anywhere near the same level as recently. Plus what's the chances of Levy losing out on £15m just to show a sign of respect. He's been paying his wages all those times he's been out injured.

Would you see it that way if we were to bump into him playing for Juventus or whoever in the Champions League. I'm all for Dembele getting a big pay day but Spurs don't need to be charitable to any other club.

All players devalue at some stage in thier careers.......how much has Levy forked out on Llorente......be lucky to get 5 million of that back. Dembele has been a good player with us for 6 years and some really exceptional performances. One year left on his contract.....u do the sums.

Ok let’s keep him and let’s his contract run down......maybe get 12-18 games out of him next season and he moves on a free at 31.....now that’s charitt.

I'd be more than happy to keep him a bit longer but if the club see fit to sell him it's their responsibility to get the best deal for THFC. I guess we'll just have to see how it pans out but I don't think Levy is big on sentimentality.

Who is the last player to retire properly for us? I mean like Carrick is for the Manc's.

As everyone knows, especially Arse, an in form Dembele is unplayable. Players like him, Toby, Verts, Eriksen and Kane are what make us special. We need to go out there and spend some money on quality replacements, rather than just relying on one of the loanee kids to step up. The worry is that when we lose top players, we stop progressing as a team and a club. We need to maintain the tempo and continue to be the best club in town and put pressure on the Mancs and scousers. There’s a lot more pressure at the top, unlike in the pre Enic days, where the expectation was massively lower etc. This is the reality that we find ourselves in now.

I'm the last person to claim conspiracy theories against the club, but it does make me wonder why there's so often stories of how we're pricing players out of moves while the same reporters are bemoaning our tendnecy to not spend millions. Don't seem to see it about other clubs and almost always the fee stated doesn't sound unreasonable when compared to the market average.

Why is it our bad when we expect 30m for a player who pundits fall over themselves to praise, but are also letting ourselves down by not spending 60m on an unknown quantity? I've come to accept the market for players has ballooned over the last few years, seems the media haven't, they just want to see clubs spending money.

He can go for zero next summer happy for him to do that and give us one more season. As a free transfer he would get his pay day..

Yeah especially as they like selling their own player for a fair share.

You want Dembele to show gratitude to Levy for continuing to pay his wages when he's been injured? He's been injured for half of the 6 years he's been here? Drivel. Get you back to your 19th century home!

30 million for Dembele is peanuts. If you can’t afford it. Sorry.
At 31? With a record of missing a few months a season through injury? I'm sure they can afford it, it just doesn't make financial sense.

Would Levy authorise paying £30m for Dembele? There's your answer.
