If you think Ade has a bad attitude, wait for this guy! I don't know how his temprament has been at Newcastle but I follow Marseille a bit living just down the road as i do, and he was a nightmare there.

not too thrilled by this tbh. Having said that, his performance since leaving Marseille has been pretty good, so maybe he grew up or maybe Marseilles just didn't suit him.

So you wouldn't want Tevez, Ballotelli, or Suarez?

He's a proven goalscorer and one that fits right into the preferred system that Poch likes to field. He has a season's PL experience as well.

Handling difficult players is part of a managers make up and though Sherwood was not the right for Spurs he had Ade back in the team and scoring 14 in 25 games. Show me who we can afford to produce that scoring rate?

Last season Remy scored 14 in 26 for the Bar Codes.

I give in with some people on here who just whine for the sake of it without looking at FACTS.

I can only judge him from his time at castle, as we know (sigh) some strikers struggle to adapt to PL defences but he hit the ground running and did really well, scored some great goals too. Bit worried about him being injury prone but thats what we have a squad for.

Thanks for the input lao .. maybe he was trying to impress at castle and kept the lid on his attitude or maybe he has matured and realises he's not bigger than the clubs he plays for.

I'd be happy to see him in a Spurs shirt anyway.

I'd rather we put in a bid for Lukaku before the World Cup finals start (otherwise his price may inflate if Belgium have a decent run in the WC). Get the deal done ASAP and use the extra Bale and Modric money to pay some/most of the fee.

Cool your jets mate. He was just saying he had a bad attitude at Marseilles. You'll accept a good player with a bad attitude but it's not ideal.

Anyway Remy's a good player, but he's not exactly Tevez or Suarez good.

Chill Tonto, i was comparing their attitude not skill levels. Thought you may have picked up on that.

hey hey hey easy there fella, I very clearly qualified my observations of his behaviour at Marseille by saying that he appears to have been okay at Newcastle.

Having said that, his performance since leaving Marseille has been pretty good, so maybe he grew up or maybe Marseilles just didn't suit him.

I am not 'whining for the sake of it'. I have been aware of and watching Remy for several years, i live in France, right between Nice and Marseille at that and most of my friends are either Nice or Marseille fans ... so i happen to know a little bit about this guy, okay? I have actually been very aware of him and watched him alot and spoken to alot of people about him over the years since he signed for Nice in 2008.

Over 6 years now. How long you been watching him for mate?

I know. I was trying to point out the better the player, the more attitude you'll take. Suarez and Tevez are in a different league to Remy, so teams are more inclined to accept a bad attitude. The attitude skill correlation.

Long enough to know that he can score goals, at a level higher than that of French pub teams.

Wanna spam this post as well?

Grow up a little.

Sign him up. And Rodriguez. If it's going to be Pochettino, let's give him some forwards to work with and some options from the bench. Let's give him players competing for some positions in attack and let's give him a plan B and C.

For whatever reason, we've only had two senior strikers for quite a lot of the last two seasons and it's maddening. We used to be known for our threat and excitment in attack. We've been tonked by the big boys because they're happy to let us have possession knowing we won't hurt them. Goals win games. Remy ticks the boxes for price and end product.

Overall i agree with your post, but i would (if i were Levy) hold out until Rodriguez proved his fitness. At twenty three years of age (i think?) he wouldn't come cheap and the last thing we need is an injury prone player after recovering from major surgery on a long contract. Hell, we don't even know yet when Lamela will return and if he will be good to go when he does. We only have a twenty five man squad to choose from with PL and EL footie next season. We cannot afford to lose two players with no back up, especially in the scoring department.

Marseille & Nice are French Pub Teams now? This is your argument? (Rhetorical. Your opinions are officially invalid to me now)

& BTW the spam rating was down to the fact that i never even mentioned goalscoring, all i was talking about was his general attitude and demeanor at previous clubs which resulted in a diatribe about goals for some reason

How many "previous" Clubs has he had per chance?

He went on loan from QPR to Newcastle (which was part of his contract if QPR were relegated).

The main post related to Spurs being a potential club for him to join, i would guess because he scores goals at a rate any top side would want.

As far as i know hes been to Lyon > Nice > Marseille > QPR > Newcastle

He has scored goals at QPR and at Newcastle, but he was very very dry at Nice (where he pretty much had to leave because of fan pressure) and Marseillle (where he announced he hated the game and was retiring from football, before he signed at QPR which people in France considered he was doing for a 'final paycheck'.

As it happens, the PL seems to have suited him far better than Ligue 1 and he has found the goal alot, and hasn't seemingly caused any problems that we know of.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't we linked with him about three/four seasons ago for about £15m?
Transpired another club done a medical with him and a potential heart defect flagged up?
I'd take him on evidence from his time over here though...
