Tottenham receive major Micky van de Ven injury boost following surgery fears

Postecoglou was not hopeful in the aftermath of the derby about the nature of the injury for the young Dutchman.

"It's too early but looking at Micky you're thinking it's a pretty significant one so you'd assume he'll be out for a little while," the Tottenham head coach said in his post-match press conference.

However, while the recovery timeline is not yet clear for Van de Ven with more assessment required, Spurs believe that after initial observations this week surgery will not be required and the defender will be able to recover through treatment with the club's medical staff at Hotspur Way.
