I think you should steer clear of assumptions.

Aren't Chelsea expanding Stamford Bridge to 62 thousands or something of the like? Wouldn't surprise me if they waited to see what our capacity was then make their ground slightly bigger.

They dont ever fill Stamford Bridge now so the bigger they go the worse it will look.

I think Teams need to realise that the ticket prices should come down now. Drop a match day ticket by say £15 & watch all the extra bums come into the new stadium! Most these people will then buy programs, food, drink even visiting the Club shops etc all making up that £15 with ease anyway.
Combine that with the insane TV money, clubs are not losing out & the stadiums are full.

As it stands the average punter has to pick & choose there games to attend & it's no wonder people would much prefer to illegally stream the games online.

We could have applied for a 75,000 seater stadium and looked at the German model in relation to ticket prices

With some tickets very reasonably priced we’d attract a lot more youngsters who would come with their mums and dads which would build a very healthy future

The average age at WHL must be pushing towards 50 now which cannot be healthy

Being in London with such a huge population and most tickets being far too expensive we'd attract a vast demographic

I think it would have been fantastic to hugely reduce most tickets including maybe 50% of season tickets

We’d still have the posh seats and the corporates and the huge TV revenue. No reason why we couldn't invite more of the real'Tottenham' to WHL on a regular basis

Let's be honest the low number of black faces each week attending games is disgraceful. We do great things in the local community this should also include attracting more of the locals to games

Imagine WHL packed with 75,000 each week from all walks of life

Wonderful work by Levy. This will really set us up plus the NFL link.

Build it and they will come. I've been in WHL with close to 70000 others.

Rocking !

I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I won't derail from this thread dedicated to your homes, business and intelligence.

The irony is strong. Yet again.

In theory, but not in practice. The main limiting factor on capacity is not space or demand, it is transport. Initially, 56,250 was the maximum that could be shown (in the transport study that accompanied the first planning application) to be able to get in and out of the neighbourhood safely and effectively using public transport, without the club having to pay for a new tube station, or for extensive improvements to an existing tube station, neither of which would have been viable.

A few years later, public transport, especially the bus service, has continued to improve and the new design team has been able to show that 61,000 can be safely handled in and out of Tottenham.

The WHL ground record gate is 75038.

Yes but as we all know those 75,000 lived a lot nearer to WHL back in the day and so many less people drove back then and roads in regards to congestion were I would imagine pretty non existant

Also I think trams used to run all the time from Liverpool Street straight to The Lane

I still kind of agree re 'well we used to get 70,000 plus' and it would have been great to get more 'ordinary' people back at WHL and try and get the game back to more grass roots and normality rather than it becoming more and more elite

Still if there is no chance of that type of capacity being approved then we just need to move on, unfortunately

Are there any provisions for safe standing in the revised plan or any possibility to adapt in the future?

You are assuming a few things there. A great many people did not live close by and the traffic congestion was strong when I was going to WHL with up to 70000 there.

If Levy & Co dropped the tickets prices, then players wages would need to reduce as well. Leading to problems in retaining top players, and recruiting. As to the catering aspect, the profit margins would still be less than if we kept the tickets prices as they are, cos fans would eat and drink anyway.. So only way to reduce ticket costs, is if all clubs in PL did the same.

Recent quotes from Germany say they cannot compete with EPL players wages wise now and they fear losing more players. Ticket prices are much lower in Germany.
