I'll take £20m and we'll say no more about it ! 2 goals for us and 4 for Fenerbache, can't see a bidding war developing that's for sure.

Ajax aren't in need of a dutch international striker are they?

Id take 15 and be thankful I got that. Wanted him to succeed but then I wanted Soldado to as well and that didn't happen :).

To be honest I think being back up to Kane is a thankless task for anyone -Llorente has also found life difficult in this regard. Janssen has shown brief flashes of quality in holding the ball up etc and there is a player in there somewhere but he will probably need to leave for his own sakes.

Hope Levy is sensible in this for the benefit of both parties................

I think we need to keep him for one more season. He is young and has talent but never given that much of an oppotunity due to Kane’s performances and also his first season settling in. Lucas has had 5 months, great player and a good buy but again few opportunities. Llorente was a panic buy, cost a fortune and we are unlikely to get any financial return when sold. Give Janssen a break and one more season to settle and then make the call.

I doubt very much that he'll ever pull on a Spurs shirt again. Nothing against him but he hasn't done anything in Turkey either.

Nor has Llorente.....33 years old....was that a bargain buy......just think Janssen deserves another chance......one mistake in his first season was trying to hard to impresss....snatch at opportunities in front of goal but held the ball up welll and made some good layoffs.

Pisses me off in the end that we did the whole Janssen out Llorente in thing. Not because I think Llorente is a bad player or that I blame him. But when he arrived I thought we had a PLAN for using him. Turns out we didn't at all, and we might as well have stuck with Janssen rather than doing that whole switch.

Seen this elsewhere & think it's ridiculous, just getting our money back would be good.

Trouble is it's very difficult to bring in a player to deputise for Kane. He wants to play every minute and is first on the team sheet. It's why a player like Martial makes sense because he can fulfill more than one role and will get plenty of game time. Llorente and Janssen have been unlucky in that respect but we need more flexible options than a straight same type player. Son has done pretty well but for my money he's best off the bench.

I agree it's difficult, but that alone was not a good reason for Janssen/Llorente out/in. Llorente actually, in theory, brought a different sort of flexibility to the squad and I was excited for that. But when we never ever tried to actually capitalise on that, we might as well have kept around the young striker that wasn't quite right, rather than signing the old striker that really was not right.

He ain't gonna play for us again, so i'd take 15 million and pay his wages for a season.

I think the whole thinking behind it was bringing in an experienced, proven head who would be happy to play second fiddle whilst VJ’s loan would get him some regular game time and confidence back, just all went a bit double south as neither worked out well.
Poison chalice being that second striker at our place which is why we need the flex from the wide players to fill the void...
