If this is true, Toby is definitely history at Spurs. I still hope Toby stays because his partnership with Jan is special, but it seems more and more unlikely. If he has to go, let's hope he has a great WC and Barca and Madrid outbid each other for his signature. I really don't want to see any more stars sold to rival PL clubs.
Toby will be hard to replace, but this De Ligt kid looks very promising indeed. 48m for an 18-year-old defender sounds ridiculous, but he looks great and we need to replace before we sell.

So apparently they want £52m for him

May as well pay-up as it would practically be a straight-swap for Toby (moneywise)

Bidness.

The difference between a bid and STUNNING bid is likely the cheque is attached to a brick.

And Levy has slung it through a window and rage quit.

Why would these bids be made in Sterling, they are in the Eurozone. It does make a substantial difference, currently around 14%. So £48m = €54,857,142 whereas €48m = £42m.

Worth every penny.

With Toby's likely transfer fee of around 50 million we would be nett two million up, and if we got close to that Levy would be over the fucking Moon.

Toby has been brilliant but we have done fine without him for most of the season. I just wonder if this is the best use of funds. Are we buying him to replace Jan in the near future? How about Foyth?

Unless we are close to an agreement to selling some of our players I can’t see this......even Levy would be stunned reading the headline.....can’t see him or Poch agreeing to this fee.

We spent 40 million on Sanchez so why wouldn't we up the game if we think he is worth it.

His injury was a blessing in disguise in this respect. We saw that there is life after Toby. Foyth is still a little off yet. I'd say second half of next season or maybe even the one after.

Sign him up, loan him to a Premiership club (not in CL) , maybe chelsea and if looks up to it, he'll be worth a spot on our bench.
