    RUMOURS:

Tottenham could be ready to hijack Andriy Nesmachniy's move to Blackburn Rovers.

    Source - Daily Mail

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has asked for Nesmachniy to go on trial at the club before he confirms the January move, however it's now believed that Tottenham are interested in the player and wouldn't require him to go under trial as he has already proved all he's worth and 58 Ukraine caps tells the story.

Tottenham boss Martin Jol is looking to strengthen his side ready for a big push into the rest of the season and Nesmachniy is believed to be a strong target.

What position does this guy play?

None of the those few Ukrainian players who moved to Premiership have been a success so far. Last high-ish profile defender from Ukraine was Oleg Luzhnyi who had been Dynamo Kiev's captain in their best years before moving to Arsenal - and he was lost there.

Oleg's time at the Scum ended with them singing:

    "He comes from the Ukraine
Please fuck off to the Lane".

    Say no more.

were linked with every1 ronaldo, figo, rivaldo, beckham, guti etc. and so this is just another player. we dont need him as we have stalteri and ifil under chimbonda for RB

if he was a CB then maybe but im sure he is not so end of.

I think were at that stage where we want class, and i mean class as out cover/replacement. I dont think Gardner, Stalteri and maybe BAE are good enough. What happens if Chimbonda gets injured and then we come up against Milan in the UEFA Cup or some big team, Chelski, Manc, Arse? Stalteri in defense? I think we need to bring in some bigger names, also, someone that can challenge Chimbonda and co.

something tells me milans involvement in the knockout stages of the champs league rule out us getting them in the uefa cup... just a hunch

he's a LB, getting on a bit now. I don't think he'd be an improvement on what we have.

Agree. I think Curtis Davies can play right-back too, can't he? Makes a swoop for him all the more appealing IMO.

Agree totally. Curtis Davies is the sort of player we need. Young, British and wasting his talent at Brom.
