Why not too; the kid deserves it. Also he might be on other teams' radar now and an improved deal will certainly help him feeling appreciated at Spurs.

So what they are saying was a youth/reserve team player, loaned to league 1 and 2 sides, was on £500,000 a year?

As crazy as that is. let's take into account that their playing career is only 10-15 years long.

By the time they are put on the scrap heap, most of us are entering out highest earning phase.

League 1 players aren't getting sweet media roles after playing so I wouldn't begrudge a League 1 player earning 250k - 500k a year for 10 years. Many of them have to get normal jobs to take them into retirement.
